POEMS AND SHORT STORIES

I don't write a lot. If I feel something strong enough, you'll eventually read it.

Yo is this the beat I police full of grey streaks sheep and lightless sea
Crashing wave after wave of face after face in a trance tied to our constantly dwindling attention spans brought on by utter lack of human connection to anything that don't have HD projection and we weary on bout our endless days dredging away lives shorter than jays hoping we can reach the dreams we pretend we made only to see our lives fade far out in the ocean, and the rest of your life is that straightforward motion
get a couple nuts 'fore I'm 69 and maybe make a mil off someone's dime cuz I check my 6 and...

I approach, notepad and pen prepared,
Who knows what kinda questions I'll be asking out there.
Candidates with secrets better be scared,
Even innocent ones have holes here and there.
Bernie Sanders talking that mad game,
Stabilization of our internal reign.
I leave Trump alone because I ain't bout fools,
The only press I'd give him is a vice on his jewels.
Hillary Clinton, attack by defendin,
Cut me off,
Dodging questions and thoughts.
I keep pressing- see what I did there ;)
Tension thickening in the air.
She finally caves and...

The Loss of Your Voice
"I can't sleep again. She's on my mind."
Again I perpetuate that tired line.
She lied to- woe is- please love-
Me.
Acceptance unconditionally.
Breaking chains that rusted red
When she left me tethered and dead.
Silence so clear it punctuates the waking night and feels as dark as the absence of light.
Telling me that I'm unwhole,
That you took with you a piece of my soul.
You lied so easily with passion and poise
Spouting idealistic nonsense and noise.
You drew out what I hid under key,
And broke my heart over your knee.
Again I perpetuate that tired line.
She lied to- woe is- please love-
Me.
Acceptance unconditionally.
Breaking chains that rusted red
When she left me tethered and dead.
Silence so clear it punctuates the waking night and feels as dark as the absence of light.

Hellbound Whore
potato template plastic bitch
feign indignation with such gall in your spit
burn alive with hot tar caked
for every truth i had to face
you double chinned amorphous shaped piece of burnt up masking tape
we bonded well, you and I
for a piece of shit and chocolate pie
with every drop spot smear and dredge
you let lies find asylum in my head
for your dishonor no snowflake cries
and who's to say with sweatered eyes that you don't seem that bad a guy
with unfair notice and a beggar's trial
and the perpetual barrier of my longest mile

And
Write it out and off in a moment's passion, with hot tears and cold hearts and our world in ashes. Speak of the day you dropped the act and carried the torch of your savage stat. Look upon the ruin you've wrought and question if this is what life's about. Carry on into the dusk and waste what strength was left in your husk. Under this sun you falter and buckle, down to your knees and the dust hardly rustled.
The taste of death chills your breath in this scorching wasteland of a soul where you hide all of your gaps and holes. The flaws you hid from everyone close, until you slit them by...

Shudder
A hard shudder, no flash,
No uproar or trumpet blast.
A hard shudder as we passed,
But the spell was cast.
A shadow on the street,
A phantom of my mind,
A pity we couldn't meet,
Couldn't cross that line.
You felt nothing, I'm certain,
Gaze locked, eye to eye,
A second lost searching,
Then we passed each other by.
We went about our lives,
Not days or routines,
We went about our lives,
With no words spoke between.
But your auburn hair,
And those green eyes,
I see them vividly,
Burned in mine. ...

You lied, Day.
Your melted snow,
Our season's passed,
Now I know we couldn't last.
I knew better than to throw myself in,
Mistaking the flame for the sun's glean.
I found it hard to think rationally then,
But you've made it clear from all I've seen.
Maybe it's easy to cast off the mask,
Easy for you to pick up in the past?
There is no redemption, no semblance of hope.
You lied to me every time we spoke.
In your eyes I saw my light,
But I got too close and something died.
I guess our future was too bright,
I thought you'd stay, maybe just might. ...

Lost at Sea
Cast to the winds, battered by sea.
Flames engulf your raft of reed.
Though you sought your retribution,
To clear your heart's unchecked pollution,
Though you felt there must be hope,
Kindles remain of your paltry lifeboat.
You realise you've lost count of the days
And it adds more saltwater to your ocean grave.
You stifle your scream,
But can't swallow your pain.
They know you're in need
But rush to refrain.
Instead of salvaging your broken parts,
They left you adrift-
That's how it starts.

If I'm The Night
If I'm the night, with my moon and stars,
A world so dark with scattered light shards,
If I'm the blanket that blots the blue,
Then what are you, my foil, to do?
Who are you, I'm forced to ask
As you encroach this perpetual dusk,
Your blinding passion upon me so fast,
Illumination brings love and lust.
And in my moonlit, icy breeze,
It's nothing new for the heart to freeze,
But you got through the maelstrom winds.
You banished the clouds and made the night end.
With the atmosphere clear, your sun rises high, ...

The Neighbor
Where was it ever chiseled that your stone could be rekindled?
Who's to say after all these years,
you could put to rest my deepest fears?
Shared from the depths of my need is a hope that- just once- I'm right to believe.
And if there's only my footprints, what then? One set in the sand, one set the extent.
Is that all you had? To not even begin, wiped from existence, a memory of end.
But it started somewhere, in my binding heart. Those years ago, your bit-part.
Excelling in a role played better by fewer, you knew it was theater, and I, too, was a viewer. ...

Sightless
Do you shudder from the pain
Or the cold?
More afraid of dying alone,
Than by the hands of the one you hold.
You relax your grip,
Clench your teeth,
Standing tall, and dead on your feet.
Awake in a nightmare that steals your days,
A prisoner to a hope that no longer shines.
Slave of powers that can't grasp your ways,
What redemption could you ever find?
In this world that won't hear your words?
What love do you seek,
As the pawn on a chess board?
Thrown away by a king, to protect the Queen.
With eyes so keen,

And there you were, amidst the rains,
A tsunami to rival the tear soaked lawn.
I saw you far out in the plains.
Breaking the way forward, towing dawn.
Your approach held no hesitation,
You sat at my fire and spoke with delight.
As we carried on our conversation,
The firelight surrendered- you were so bright.
Before I knew it, night came and went,
Laughs perpetual as the rain had been.
Rooted to the spot, enraptured by our chat,
In the dusty recesses of society's outskirts,
We sat.
A tsunami to rival the tear soaked lawn.
I saw you far out in the plains.
Breaking the way forward, towing dawn.
Your approach held no hesitation,
