I've been begging for help
For so many years
Sometimes with words
Sometimes with tears

Nobody heard my pleads
My cries went ignored
Living in this turmoil
Is something I couldn't afford

I tried to tell everybody
That my heart is breaking
My mind is scrambled
And my body is aching

Here lately it seems
There's nothing I've enjoyed
Everything I've cared about
Has been taken or destroyed

So why would I go on
What's the use
Living a life
With a screw loose

Maybe they think I'm over-dramatic...

I hope this letter
Finds you doing well
But as for me
It's hard to tell

I know you were crying
The day I had to leave
It was hard for me too
For days I would grieve

I need you so bad
Do you feel the same way
To be so close in spirit
Yet so far away

Nobody else in this world
Has entered my mind
There's nobody like you
So beautiful, compassionate and kind

I have a picture of you
I kiss it every night
Praying you have sweet dreams
Hoping you sleep tight
