POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
I once sat on a boulder in the middle of a paddock on a hot, sunny day and let out a sound that was somewhere between a scream, a sigh, a whimper and a cry. I dedicate all of my poems to finding, verbalising and feeling that feeling again.
No.
I'll have you on your knees
On the phone to your ex.
Let them listen to our sounds
As I pound into your sex.
I'll fuck you like a whore
On the table, on the bed.
Listen to you choke
When you try to give me head.
I'm not here for your feelings
I'm here for some hard fucking
Give yourself to me
And it's your pussy I'll be sucking.
I'll come so hard inside you
You'll feel it when you wake.
I won't be here to hold your hand
For fucking goodness sake.
I'm sick of your dumb drama
Don't look...
On the phone to your ex.
Let them listen to our sounds
As I pound into your sex.
I'll fuck you like a whore
On the table, on the bed.
Listen to you choke
When you try to give me head.
I'm not here for your feelings
I'm here for some hard fucking
Give yourself to me
And it's your pussy I'll be sucking.
I'll come so hard inside you
You'll feel it when you wake.
I won't be here to hold your hand
For fucking goodness sake.
I'm sick of your dumb drama

Dream to Dream
I guess what I'm trying to say
is that your stubble felt right
against my palm.
That the crease between your brows
is my favourite place to kiss you;
embrace you, calm.
That your hands feel like smoke
and fire and beauteous,
cherish it; love.
Don't go inside.
Your sadness is a drug to me
you love me with a heart of pain
and bruises.
And I love you.
Slip your tongue against mine, love.
Let me taste your bitter sorrow
let me take you away
to candlelit love, light, passion.
Don't go...
is that your stubble felt right
against my palm.
That the crease between your brows
is my favourite place to kiss you;
embrace you, calm.
That your hands feel like smoke
and fire and beauteous,
cherish it; love.
Don't go inside.

(1) The Thoughts
goddess of rotten fantasy
illicit in me
fire overpowering
in its darkness.
Carve into me
visions, wishes
touches
of beauteous powerlessness
and pain
and illustrious
want
grace me with breath
for words I've long thought
and forgotten to say
or was too scared to.
dear goddess place me
where sense in all it's actuality
finds me.
my wants are too
dark
for prayers...
but prayer is nigh
grant me forced
held
captured
bound
writhe...
illicit in me
fire overpowering
in its darkness.
Carve into me
visions, wishes
touches
of beauteous powerlessness
and pain
and illustrious
want
grace me with breath
for words I've long thought
and forgotten to say
or was too scared to.
dear goddess place me

Numeral Lies
We've got botox brides
and drugged-up guys.
Slender figures
and break-up eyes.
We've got adult teens
and crack-head kids.
Parental figures
and car-wreck skids.
We've got bulimic brains
and match-stick hands.
Idol figures
and god-like bands.
We've got hopeful feet
and sunk-in eyes.
Weight figures
and statistic lies.
and drugged-up guys.

Broken Jawed Big-Mouth
You're screaming at the silence
'till your teeth begin to shake
and the quiet you were damned to fill
starts to take a bitter taste
The salt of your poisoned blood
stains your teeth and tongue
with every lie you speak
while the earth rumbles underneath.
You flood your mouth with lies.
But break your jaw with words,
lose your worth for something
and you might end up heard.
'till your teeth begin to shake
and the quiet you were damned to fill
starts to take a bitter taste
The salt of your poisoned blood
stains your teeth and tongue
with every lie you speak
while the earth rumbles underneath.
You flood your mouth with lies.

Lace Thoughts and Knitting-Needle Hands
I feel so full of emptiness
waiting to burst from my eyes.
Conversations soon digress
from meaningful to lies.
I'm standing on the window here
waiting for it to crack.
And if I'm not filling up the time
it's because I've just lost track,
There's nothing left to fill me now,
nothing of much interest.
I'm counting days by suicide hows
and discarding all the simplest.
I'm reaching out with burning eyes
so cold without, they seem.
There's still fire flickering by ice,
but it only comes out in dreams.
Wish I could...
waiting to burst from my eyes.
Conversations soon digress
from meaningful to lies.
I'm standing on the window here
waiting for it to crack.

There's No Goddamn Reason
What good is life to the universe?
From what we've done so far,
it couldn't be worse.
The volcanoes of Io will keep erupting
no matter how many worlds
we keep corrupting.
The expansion of gravity will keep going
even without anyone at all
paying attention, learning, knowing.
The speed of light will go on speeding
even without the lightmeters
we keep on reading.
What's the importance of life in the universe?
There is no importance.
There's none in this verse.
There is no importance of life in the universe....
From what we've done so far,
it couldn't be worse.
The volcanoes of Io will keep erupting
no matter how many worlds
we keep corrupting.
The expansion of gravity will keep going

Nice Try
Fresh blood is hard to swallow
inside my skull, I feel hollow.
Hands still cling to lifeless threads
eyes still hazy with a million reds.
There's not much left to care about
when you're dead and not devout.
Angels grin and tear you to shreds
and drag you underneath children's beds.
Gods all live and laugh and sing
silencing words so you can't hear a thing
living in black and white and grey
it's times like these you start to pray.
Congrats, though. You're still dead!
Try again and they'll take your head
So be a good soul...
inside my skull, I feel hollow.
Hands still cling to lifeless threads
eyes still hazy with a million reds.
There's not much left to care about
when you're dead and not devout.
Angels grin and tear you to shreds

Australian Summer
Blue skies and cream, iron fences.
Eucalyptus and singlets
heads raised to the sun
remembering that one day
that one moment
underneath other trees
in a different place
running across paddocks and chasing sheep
climbing rock pillars
like we were kings of the castle
listening to heavy metal because we could
and leaving shoes at the door to play with matches on the patio
crying out that WE WIN
from the treehouse without a care in the world
because we didn't
we were kings!
We could race home-made go karts and pretend that falling off...

No Romance in This Rome
The bus stops are bustling
the hookers are hustling
the city's in full swing
and every man's a king.
Every woman is whore
nothing but a bore;
some thighs and breasts and hair
to try and make the masses stare.
It's nothing but a circus
filled with writhing serpents.
Be consumed by perversion
lose your introversion.
Dance burlesque in the streets
with the buskers and their beats.
Have a body beneath your hands
as shifty as these sands.
Dye your hair, bleach your skin
because you know you don't fit in.
There's no...

Heartache and Heartbreak
We began in a blaze
of chain smoke and haze
nights spent in a tree
where we pretended we were free.
We giggled at the stars
and the lights of passing cars
and we loved.
We loved the moon and the dew
and when I stop and think of you,
it's all gone. The tree burned down
and the adults did more than frown
you moved from country to the city
like some fucking country ditty
and we loved.
Secret calls in the dark
some were clothed, some were stark
and the adults never knew
that I still talked to you
until the yearly...

Grinning to the Gallows
Hope is such a brittle thread
it wraps around and round your head.
Woolen sheets around your eyes
Pull them down!" reality cries.
But hope is a brittle thread
it wraps around and round your head
it throttles you by the neck
and drags you round until you're dead.
it wraps around and round your head.
Woolen sheets around your eyes
Pull them down!" reality cries.
But hope is a brittle thread
it wraps around and round your head
it throttles you by the neck
and drags you round until you're dead.
