Poet Introduction
Not the greatest at writing poetry, but I try.
Dreams of Soulmates Separated
You're haunting my dreams again.
The Christmas season nears,
You've showed up in my subconscious life
going on twenty-seven years.
It's said we're only allowed one Soulmate per lifetime,
but maybe that's not true.
For it seems I've been blessed with two.
One is no longer living, the other one is you.
I still see you in my dreams, you looking for me,
me looking for you.
Like some macabre scene in a play,
starring only two.
Two lost souls bound by love so deep,
a secret I wonder if you, too, have to keep. ...

Orange October
Goodbye, October, I watch you slip away,
Soft orange shadows at the end of the day.
Cold winds whispering through the trees,
the dusty smell of fallen leaves.
Goblins, ghosts, and spooks, too,
rushing around, yelling "Boo!"
As they collect candy from neighbors
with glee, that is the night of Halloween.
October ushers in November, stepping aside
as the weather grows colder outside.
Goodbye, October, see you around,
as your brightly colored leaves
slowly cover the ground.
Soft orange shadows at the end of the day.

Death Of A Knight: A Response
My beautiful, courageous Dark Knight, my Man in the Moon,
God took you away from us so soon.
We know not the why, nor His plan,
yet He took a mighty, gentle man.
Leaving us to wonder why,
Our Knight was not supposed to die.
The Dark Knight rises, remember me telling you that?
Before we could blink, you were gone.
As the Spring's cold mist gave way to dawn,
you drew your last breath, and then went on.
I miss you so much, my one True Love,
Wait for me behind the Moon, where when we all finally meet again,
We will never...

Frozen
In a state of suspended, confusing Isolation; in animated limbo.
Unable to breathe, but breathing all the same.
Eyes of dull aqua-green, glisten with hot tears that refuse to fall.
My insides feel both painfully alive, but dead just as much as any flame of fire,
gasping, jumping in a final struggle to flicker.
You tell me the word love is over-rated, not to say it anymore.
But you're wrong, because the love my heart holds for you is real,
not said in casual vanity.
Without you, I feel on the sharpened blade-edge of insanity;
Not...

Summer's End
The summer days winding to a close,
August yawns in silent repose.
Cicadas languish in the trees,
the smell of Autumn on the breeze.
Twilight comes softly in shades of blue,
stretching out to meet sunset's golden hue.
The songbirds cry, the crickets sing a lullaby.
As if to mourn sweet summer's end
and serenade the warm night wind.
As summer creeps slowly to her bed,
the trees whisper softly to themselves..
Crisp changing leaves and morning dew,
it seems as though the summer quickly flew.
Soon there will be pumpkins and...

Soulmates Apart
One day I shall recover.
The hurt of your leaving will not be so dreadful.
Recover I will, forget you, never!
I shall see you again
when my own journey across the sky begins.
For now for always my Soulmate, my love,
I shall dance with you among the stars,
dreaming of you, lost in memories of mist.
I shall not forget you,
although you are much missed.
Will I ever recover, do I want to?
If I recover I'm afraid I'll forget you.
With me forever, you always said,
even though I'm living and you are dead.
No, I can't...

Flutterby Butterfly
Fluttering, flying butterfly,
drawing close, flitting away.
Come back, come back,
there's a message for you to convey.
Fly, fly, Butterfly, up high
into the deep blue sky.
All the way to Heaven's Gates,
where my Eternal Lover awaits.
Flutter closely to him
tell him what I want to say.
Although he already knows
I love him to this day.
Listen carefully, little butterfly,
sail back down from that azure sky.
Fluttering, flying close to me,
tell me what he has to say.
'O my darling, I love you, ...

Wrecks of Humanity
We all have things about us
that we try to hide inside.
In the deepest recesses of our souls,
dark secrets do reside.
Society deems it necessary to label
everyone in a category.
We are no longer individuals in this
politically correct society.
What once was hyperactivity,
is now labeled as a disability.
Is this really how it should be?
All labels and categories instead
of mere humanity?
Emotional baggage, insecure and co-dependent.
That is what they call people, usually with pity or disdain,
but isn't...
that we try to hide inside.

Dreams Lay Shattered
All our dreams gone down in flames,
Just because of your stupid games.
Didn't tell me you were engaged,
to Alcohol and his sister, Cocaine.
Now our dreams lie shattered
in the dust,
All because of addiction-lust.
I cannot stand it, I cannot stay,
I barely make it through each day.
Your substance abuse takes over
and the chemicals are your only lover.
Weekends put me in constant dread,
knowing you'll lay in your mistresses bed.
Maybe not this weekend, but probably soon,
Our relationship is one of darkening gloom. ...

Forgiveness From Within
Dear Me,
Yes, I'm talking to you.
It's fine to admit you've made
more mistakes than few.
Could you help that this man who calls you his wife,
lied to you constantly, as he's lied to himself all his life?
How could you know what wasn't shown,
You aren't at fault, how could you have known?
So cunning was he, didn't stop to think,
that someday his lies would be revealed.
Lies don't for long stay concealed,
and his showed themselves with glaring clarity.
You're not sinless, you're not Snow White,
But you were...

Decades Of Decembers/Love, Immortally Yours
You returned on leave from Germany, that cold December day.
I waited quietly as you hugged your parents, and then you gazed my way.
Encircling me in your arms, you held me against your chest.
I snuggled closer in your embrace, upon your shoulder my cheek did rest.
Holding hands, we left the airport, you held my hand so tight;
how was I supposed to know what you would do that night?
We sat around the table, all wanting to talk at once.
The evening went by too fast, and the winter sun set at last.
You got up to get more tea, when you passed...

If Only...
If only I could visit the place where you lay,
but the miles are many, so far away.
I know you're not beneath that marble stone upon which your name is carved.
You're beyond the moon, and above the stars.
If only I could, just for a moment, or maybe a day,
sit and talk with you, there is so much I want to say.
Although you're at peace, your troubles gone,
without you here, everything's all wrong.
I want to be free of the earthly ties, my spirit's tired, and my heart cries.
You're the lucky one, you see, because God took you and you're now...
but the miles are many, so far away.
