Dreams of Soulmates Separated

You're haunting my dreams again.
The Christmas season nears,
You've showed up in my subconscious life
going on twenty-seven years.  
 
It's said we're only allowed one Soulmate per lifetime,
but maybe that's not true.
For it seems I've been blessed with two.
One is no longer living, the other one is you.  
 
I still see you in my dreams, you looking for me,
me looking for you.
Like some macabre scene in a play,
starring only two.
Two lost souls bound by love so deep,
a secret I wonder if you, too, have to keep.  
 
Do I haunt your dreams, appearing like the mist,
As real as real can be, leaving you with a kiss?
Upon awakening, does your heart drop like a stone,
when you realize that it was just a dream,
and you're still there all alone?  
 
Are there nights when I haunt your dreams,  
just as you do mine.
