I swear
I hear your voice
I feel no pain,
I see you smile
I hear you laugh
so sweet
it’s okay
I can die now
and feel complete,
I hear you whisper
“I love you”
and my heart soars
there's no need for anything more.

you think
You think I should go now
wander around in darkness
when I have already seen the light
you think I should leave now
break the cycle of punishment
we have inflicted upon ourselves
I disagree
he knew what he was doing
he doesn’t work by guess
by coincidence
by chance
our destinies written
in advance
you think I should go now
heal
be better
your solution
misconstrued
I do not wish to heal
without you.

today
all the time you were falling
I lay waiting
to catch you
all the time you cried of injustice
I was there
to make it right
all the time you needed a friend
I was always there
to listen
all the time you made your plans
building dreams
I sat patiently by
helping you with blue prints
for your castles
in the sky
now I sit alone
empty and distraught
every word you sold
I bought
I cannot go on
I don’t know where
to go on to
for so long
I build my fences
around you
now I lay...

Is it really Love?
Is it really love if I have to work so hard to keep it in line
is it really love if thinking of you depresses me all the time,
my tears now seem to be uneventful and a chore
is it really love when I don’t want to hear you anymore,
Is it really love if I have to beg and plead
is it really love if it makes me drop to my knees,
I lay at your feet holding my heart in the palm of my hand
is it really love when it sifts through so easily like sand,
Is it really love when we stay at a distance fighting more than we make

vultures
Like vultures flying over the dead
they spin round and round inside my head
my blood course rapidly through my veins
to my entire body transporting the pain,
I told myself letting go was the only strategy
still like hunting dogs they keep chasing me,
I cannot outrun the beasts they’re on my back
I jump ship I abandon everything so I can’t be tracked.
The ones who profess a love divine
are the ones who can’t seem to be kind,
what they wish I cannot know
they hide in the distance never letting show
what are their intentions should I die a sudden...

Ball and Chain
You can tie it with ball and chain
bind it to your bed
hold it within your hands
place it while you sleep under your head
you can cage it under lock under key
cover it from daylight as that may be
gag it’s mouth to sing quietly
only for you not for me
pay it some money offer any kind of bribe
to slip under the cover somehow try to hide
but love cannot be brought cannot be sold
wise as it is and just as old
it comes and goes as it please
dances in a winter storm to tease
no amount of begging nor ocean of tears
will make it quiver from...

haven’t I worn my heart as your shield?
haven’t I cut open old wounds so I’d be the one to bleed?
How can you not know by now this is what makes me breathe
how can you say what you say willing me to leave?
there is nowhere I wish to be no one I wish to be with
have my actions of affections appeared as mere myth?
you have given your heart I swore to protect
your utmost loyalty deserves all respect
there is no place else I want to be
no one else holding me
trust me.

Rising with the dust on one’s face
solution comes from a distant place
the tears dried the napkin discarded
the heart and soul carefully guarded
he has a laugh that breaks the calm
he has an aura that shields all harm
his lips like fire summoning her sterility
she looks up takes notice shuns humility
time is short love is wasting
take a sip of what he’s tasting
