Back and forth
I call you gray; right on the line
I call you shade; fade with time
Never know what day the sun will shine
Chasing raes but you know you'll cave
I call you broke; say what you hope
Claiming change but you know you'll choke
Say your name like blowing smoke
Craving flames but burning low
Back and forth
Two sides to every coin
Pull me in and flip again
Luck wears thin and chances end
Don't say you'll stay then walk away
I call you waves; a little insane
Crashing short off shore but wanting more
same thing comes around...

Silence feels like losing ground
Every time you're not around
Rain is louder coming down
I fade into those gray shade clouds
Back and forth from day to day
Set a course then sway away
Doubts are more than just the shame
This love is more than just insane
So much that we can't change
Tortured by an untamed fate
Forced to play the waiting game
Right on time is still too late
Standing on the edge again
The choice is hard to comprehend
Goodbye is far too hard to say
But our two worlds just aren't the same
And pain...
Every time you're not around

Man made disaster
I can't complain
I've been doing the same thing
I've felt the pain
Of being traded away
Still I play the game
Busy making my own trades
Is anybody sane?

This world is going down
And we're driving it faster
The first seat belongs to me
There's no remedy
In our Man-made disaster
Craving green
But the shade's never right, it seems
Catch and release
Next fling might be brighter green
But soon it fades
The same thing goes the same way

Words that sting
Words that sting;
I know I've said them too
When wounds that hide inside
Find way to make escape
In route among my tongue
And say the cruelest things
Your words; they do it too
Fall heavy on my heart
Make residence in space
with poison roots that grew
In precedence of place
As twisted plots construe
An ill, untimely fate
And soon we are remade
Only shells of former selves
Single handedly, we shaped
Our low and sadly state
Poor choice in actions made
But it takes...
I know I've said them too

Signs
There are things that don't align
With the pictures in our mind
Sometimes we read the signs
And still don't get it right
Going the wrong way is a risk we take
Trying to find that one door
That hides what we're looking for
Sometimes it's behind the one we ignored
The skies must have lied
When they opened up for us
The stars must have been out of line
When they shined for us
I must have been blind
When I saw one fall for us
Guess I was wrong to think
Those things meant anything to you
I don't claim to know...
With the pictures in our mind

Time, you're no friend of mine
You're either hot or cold
Roll the dice; which way will you blow?
Always thinking twice 'cause I never know
Anything you bring, you soon take from me
Good while it lasts 'till it's a thing of the past
Leave me haunted by memories that
Drag the depths of my disease

The line of great succession
Line of Great Succession
History is filled with sentimental pages
Uncounted words of promise and devotion
Wounded by the cost; it's loss and all it's wages
Leaving stains upon the heart and doubts about the notion
Whether lost or kept
We all have felt it's change
Whether joy or pain
We all have said it's name
That fading, fleeting single moment
Life's highest elevation when you own it
Boiling from the depths and rest upon our lips
Powerless to stop it from sliding through the grips

Make my way through a maze of lights and city streets
Can't wait to see your face; you're waiting for me
I've crossed a thousand lines
And I'd cross a thousand more

It's getting real; how does it feel
It's gotta stop whether you want it or not
You got far now I know who you are
Breaks my heart but right from the start
I should have seen, you're no good for me
Thought you'd slip through my radar but
I am smarter than most you've known
I can't be had and I've caught on
Scheming charms, underhanded plans
Just who do you think I am
Get off your knees
Save your appeal
Apologies won't work with me
There are no deals
To be made with lions
But thanks for trying
Oh,...

Didn't know what you walked into
