POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
I'm Dillon, I write mostly sad or unhappy and love poems, I love to branch out into the weird though.
The Lie of the Lifeless
Walking in the darkness
In a two-lane alleyway
Coloring through outlines of lipstick
Illuminating like neon signs
Inviting the touch of breath
Losing ones hat
where one already lost his head
As I shambled up the cruel staircase
Hanging onto a rail
Like a bus driver hangs on to his pension
The evenings froth
Still bubbling in the back of my throat
Like gasoline that was poured into an automobile
Glass after glass until the picture was blurred
Outlined in chalk
Then forgotten when walked on too much
Door handles whisking me through...
In a two-lane alleyway
Coloring through outlines of lipstick
Illuminating like neon signs
Inviting the touch of breath
Losing ones hat
where one already lost his head
As I shambled up the cruel staircase
Hanging onto a rail
Like a bus driver hangs on to his pension
The evenings froth
Still bubbling in the back of my throat

(Kintsugi)
She fell down to one knee
The earth cracking gently
Beneath her as she gasped
Displacing the sand around her
and clasped one hand to her lungs
The other holding herself up
Holding the weight she carried
Half sunk into the sand
As Rain drops fell from her eyes
Which held visions of him
While she let out a heart breaking scream
Until she feel she may collapse
Gasping for air to return to her
Make her whole again
Then she screamed even louder
Out across the ocean
Into the sun setting
A tranquil scene
Of pain, and twisted...
The earth cracking gently
Beneath her as she gasped
Displacing the sand around her
and clasped one hand to her lungs
The other holding herself up

Revolution of Resolutions
We all resolve to change something with a new year
Trying to change our outcomes for the better
How do you resolve to be happy again?
How do you let go of everything you held so close
Our addictions to pain and heart break
How do you let go of the things you dream about
The things you wake up sad that you don't have
How do you let go of pain?
You simply can't say good bye to it
You can mask it but it will still taunt
I resolve to not tell someone I hate them
To not tell someone they ruined my life
Revolution on our resolutions
I won't be...
Trying to change our outcomes for the better
How do you resolve to be happy again?
How do you let go of everything you held so close
Our addictions to pain and heart break

Conversations With the Mind : Generations
I sat back watching the time tick away on clocks
The throngs of man bringing chatter to deaf ears
While the clouds reshaped the mind, in the inebriation
of the heart
Tip toeing around the thoughts of obligations
Two eyes set on the sun during the eclipse of the soul
Bringing the dead some peace of mind to what they lost
To what they no longer hold yet live in
Living a life of death
I trace the air in a circular fashion, drawing a hole
Looking through to the other side, the darkness of it all
The other side of the world hidden just beneath...

Flowers of the Shore
Oh, flowers lining the shore
looking to the sea as you adore
Swinging with the wind trying to soar
Bending against the sky's downpour
You always stand tall to the open vastness
Planted firmly for all to see
Standing together in the perfect harmony
I can hear the ocean playing the sounds of life
I'm but a rock looking up past them from behind
Looking out to the infinite possibilities
And thinking to myself "You are so beautiful"
As the sun shines down on you and you glow
With the heavenly bliss that plants me in the earth
Makes me...

The Coloring Book
When colors match, you don't think much of it
Just two like hues that work together
You think "oh red and blue work well"
And that's it, you don't think any more of it
You don't think of the complexities that went into it
The different colors that went into it
The reflection and trapped light
The colorless abyss when there is no light
Absorbing everything around it leaving nothing
Two people who match, you think nothing of it
You see two people who work together
And think "They look nice together"
You never realize the things...
Just two like hues that work together
You think "oh red and blue work well"
And that's it, you don't think any more of it
You don't think of the complexities that went into it

Maybe Someday
Maybe someday you'll be free
Maybe someday you'll see
Maybe someday you'll live
Maybe someday you'll find your son
and maybe someday we'll all be happy
We'll all love each other
We'll all hold each other
Instead of tossing each other aside
Maybe someday you'll cry again
Someday you'll lie again
and look to the sky then
Maybe someday you'll touch the sky
Maybe someday you'll be my friend
Or more then
Maybe someday you'll feel the air again
See the sunrise again
Look into my eyes again
Smile again
Maybe someday we won't all...
Maybe someday you'll see

Everything Is Art (E.I.A)
The whole world touches itself
Grotesquely to the rotting of our minds
We lose everyday in hopes of gaining tomorrow
In hopes of enlightenment from this sorrow
So we turn to the bullshit media
The one true form that can't see the beauty in ya
And we inject it into our veins
and smoke it into our hearts
We push our very soul to the ground
Taking advantage and tossing a few dollars on it
Then we sit
We fucking sit and age
In an age where we can't afford to age
Where we can't afford to live, let alone "live"
We crash into each...

Once Again
I woke up today from a dream
The first I've had in a very long time
I don't know what caused it but I woke up sad
In the dream you grabbed hold of my arm
And rested your head against me
And I laid my head on top of yours
I wanted nothing more than this when I awoke
Nothing else but to hold you, to love you
I know you would never let me love you though
I know it's been a really long time
But you cross my mind almost everyday
I doubt I even enter yours but that's okay
I don't know why this keeps...

Unknown Life: Part 4

“No mere mortal can escape this place” The beast said
I swallowed hard. “A-am I in hell? Is this what hell looks like?”
All three of the beasts’ heads perked up and the middle one gave off a sinister grin.
“Hell?” he asked with a smile still on his face. “What’s that?”
Beginning to feel uneasy I backed away, well aware that my chances...

The Worlds Blanket
I could feel it, feel the wind
As it rushed through my hair
Stinging my eyes without a care
As I watched lighting crack across the sky
As I thought to myself "I'm going to die"
Rain pelting my face
Those few seconds
Almost like floating in space
Seeing the ship rising over a wave
As I fell through the sky from the last crash
The wave hitting hard, knocking me
Knocking me into the unknown sea
Those few seconds as I fell
I just looked up and thought to myself
"I didn't say I loved...

I'm the Main Character in my Story
I've spent my life just looking for one person
One that means everything and moves the curtain
And lets me see the crowd who "Oooo's" at us where we stand
As my fingers just slip off into your hand
I don't know your name or what you look like
Or maybe I do, you're just hidden in my life
I'll carve the trees of the forests into your name
And color the sky, orange? just for a change
Kiss your lips and sweetly smile
Happiness while completely surrounded by denial
Which in this world is just a river in Egypt
The only sun is you shining through...
One that means everything and moves the curtain
And lets me see the crowd who "Oooo's" at us where we stand
As my fingers just slip off into your hand
I don't know your name or what you look like
