POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
Painting is silent poetry, and poetry is painting that speaks. ~ Plutarch So let me speak to those who care to listen ...
Strength
I notice him flash by
passing my open door
rushing down the department floor
he’s energy pure
A hint of his inviting scent
inescapably blends
into sharp memories of
yesterday‘s event
When he devoured me
and relentlessly sank
his merciless hardness
into my wanton flesh
while his predatory zest slashed
wounds that‘ll not properly heal
until again I’ll willingly serve
as his proximate meal
Hungrily watching him
my heart races to a full stop
and I pray - and I hope
for strength
to escape my inner...

Icicles
My heart welcomed you
Warm and joyfully
like a soft sweet summer rain
when the summer came.
Though during winter’s breath
when even the icicles
froze themselves to death
the same hot heart turned to slush
when you ice-coldly parted
what in the summer heat started.

Simple sequences
Eyes lock
bodies react
blood boils
skin shivers
lips kiss
hands touch
arms clutch
legs intertwine
minds blow
hearts open
love comes.
Eyes turn away
bodies betray
blood freezes
skin cools
lips tighten
hands flinch
arms unclutch
legs close
minds withdraw
hearts break
love goes.

Man without a face
What is it
that I see in you
although I normally
don’t look much at strangers?
Why is it
that I – after so many months -
still fail to remember your face
while trying to recall it?
Why is it
that the only particulars
I bring to mind
are your body, your touch and your scent?
Why is it
that your physical presence
ensheathes my skin
sticks and stings
like needles and pins
though sometimes lulles me
like softly landing butterflies?
Why is it
that you, although emotionally still a stranger,...

Close
To have you here
doesn’t imply you‘re near.
But I want you close
no thing between us.
No clothes, however thin
no hair, even air
at least parting skin.
I’d sneak under your surface
strip you bare
straight through your ribs
I really don’t care
taste your flesh
pulsing and fresh
claw to your heart
the most intimate part.
Take it into my hands
no walls, no fence
so close and free
so very exposed to me.
I’m going to steal it
just in case
you‘d refuse to give it
on a voluntary basis.

No fusion
I
backwards on the black
upholstered bench.
You
on top and
under me
the more than once used towel.
I
try not to think as hard
as you are.
You
pin me down
by our only connection
your blade and my sheath
butchered together
bleeding out our lust
through the pulsing stream
of our seething body fluids.
Again and again we
melt into each other.
Only the hearts
the hearts will not fuse.
backwards on the black
upholstered bench.

Memories
I’ve never imagined
that a bruise I am left with
would make me smile.
But when you loved me hard
because I wanted it that way
you left me with a souvenir
of your presence -
a picture in black and blue.
And although you’re already gone
I proudly wear my memories
like a fickle cloak.
that a bruise I am left with
would make me smile.
But when you loved me hard
because I wanted it that way
you left me with a souvenir
of your presence -
a picture in black and blue.
And although you’re already gone
I proudly wear my memories
like a fickle cloak.

House of Pain
The end of the innocence came
on beating wings along with a hashing beak
That tore at my flesh
ripped out my heart
crippled my soul
and buried
this child under a
solid cloak of despair
so thick and dark it felt like
being buried alive
or not alive.
Sometimes when I involuntarily
drive past that house of pain and
get a glimpse of
the lights glowing through its windows
illuminating other people‘s
hearts and souls and lives
witness their laughter and joy
inside its stony shell ...
on beating wings along with a hashing beak
That tore at my flesh
ripped out my heart
crippled my soul
and buried
this child under a
solid cloak of despair
so thick and dark it felt like
being buried alive
or not alive.
Sometimes when I involuntarily
