When will it end
It's almost as if the world stopped
That cold dreary rainy day
What I seemed to take for granted
Suddenly seemed so far away
But the world kept on spinning
As morning welcomed a brand new day
However I was not so fortunate
As normalcy for me had gone away
Suddenly there was a new norm
That I had to live and struggle with
Things that I loved and cherished
Now became such a struggle for me
What used to be so simple to do
Became the tallest mountain to climb
Deeper and deeper I seemed to fall
Not knowing...

Just like the sun
She shines so bright
So beautiful, sweet and kind
As if an angel sent from above
My world has now changed
Ever since we first met
Our first magical encounter
I will truly never forget
Thoughts of her fill my head
As I go about my day
Though she is never too far
Still, she is so far away
There is so much more
That I wish we could share
But I know that will never be
And sadly, one day we will part
So I will cherish every day
That you are by my side
And hold onto...
She shines so bright

Betrayal
I welcomed you with open arms
were there for you in times of need
comforted you when you were down
in moments of despair tried to offer peace
At times you made things very hard
were reluctant to open up and speak
so I sat on the outside looking in
kept quiet though it hurt me deeply
I could see the pain you tried to hide
knew your agony was fairly deep
but yet you never let me get too close
as frustration grew with each passing day
It was almost as if you didn't care
my hand held out for yours to grab

Life
Each born with a light so bright
yet for some so difficult to see
always searching to find the truth
but more often than not just teased
For some the journey is filled with song
for others silence and too many tears
like snowflakes no two are quite alike
and yet no matter we all intertwine
In the beginning so many dreams to fill
but towards the end so many regrets
thoughts of yesterday fill our heads
as we pause remember and reflect
Always questioning the reasons why
we many times come up empty handed
better...
yet for some so difficult to see
always searching to find the truth

The darkness inside
Day after day, it just never seems to end
I wake up and and wonder what the new day will bring
will I find happiness, joy or perhaps even love
or will this emptiness continue to win
Will this loneliness I feel ever stop
or is this my fate from here on in
Not sure I am strong enough to take that first step
So I wallow in these feelings of sorrow and regret
I stare out the window and watch others scurry about
holding hands and smiling, sharing quiet thoughts
there was once a time when I too shared such moments
But now I sit in silence as...
I wake up and and wonder what the new day will bring
will I find happiness, joy or perhaps even love
or will this emptiness continue to win

Eyes meet
A spark is started
Lips speak
A playful smile
Decision made
A rendezvous is planned
Anticipation rises
The hour approaches
Next step is near

I look into her eyes, but they seem so far away
at times she let's me in and I get a glimpse
but there is so much yet that I cannot see
there is a burning in her soul from days gone by
from regrets and deeds that cannot be undone
I try to comfort and be a friend
but though she appreciates, still she will not let me in
in my mind I've comforted her a thousand times
have been there for her in her darkest times
but soon I awake and realize, that it has only been a dream
