POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Eternal Breath
Sigh and the world will sigh with you
Laugh and it will become universal
Cry and it will be shared among the galaxies
Smile and it will illuminate every life
Clap and everyone will clap,
We will clap your beauty and your intelligence
We will smile upon your success
And laugh at your enjoyments
But hold.
Do not become too selfish
Do not have too much confidence
Because a sentiment once given
May be at once retracted
Sigh and the world may gasp
Laugh and the universe may shiver
Cry and the galaxies may not...
Laugh and it will become universal
Cry and it will be shared among the galaxies
Smile and it will illuminate every life
Clap and everyone will clap,
We will clap your beauty and your intelligence
We will smile upon your success
And laugh at your enjoyments
But hold.
Do not become too selfish
Do not have too much confidence
Because a sentiment once given
May be at once retracted
Sigh and the world may gasp
Laugh and the universe may shiver
Cry and the galaxies may not...

Empty Stage
I stood upon an empty stage
Reading from a scribbled out page
The lights that shone so piercingly on
Illuminated only that my heart had gone
I took my bow and fell to the ground;
To this empty stage
I am always bound
Reading from a scribbled out page
The lights that shone so piercingly on
Illuminated only that my heart had gone
I took my bow and fell to the ground;
To this empty stage
I am always bound

My Washing Machine
I’m fascinated by my washer
I can watch it spin all day
Except, it doesn’t hold my clothes
It just spins my life away
The water gushes in my soul
And I struggle now to breathe
But she’s put the wash on cold
And I can never be free
I can see myself staring
Into the open abyss
I’m banging on the glass
Then there’s this sudden flash
I hold my breath one last time
My memories come flooding back
But now I’m stuck in the pocket,
Of my blue jeans, being washed clean
I watched myself walk away
And my mum sat...

Pinnacle of Evolution
And although my world is seemingly shadowed by that which I cannot comprehend or engage with in battle, I am acutely aware that a brighter light will break through and rescue my existence, and eventually, once time has dropped his hour glass and eternity is little more than a fortnight, I will take up my belongings and collect my breath. Standing at the pinnacle of evolution- I will make myself known to all. But for now, I will endure all that is necessary to survive amidst the dust and the rocks as they circle the galaxies, oppressing any freedom that I once called my own. Instead I’m...

That Tragic Mirror
And oh that mirror that taunts me so
With its wretched stare and it’s luminous glow
Its revealing nature that creeps up to show
The inner emotions and depths of our soul
That we ought not and want not to expose
And oh that tragic mirror
It’s an inescapable truth uncovering a lie
The reason behind a desperate cry
How you look at yourself straight into your eyes
Not an intimate detail can you bury or hide
And oh that tragic mirror that loves to show
All that you do not want others to know
When the sun shines through it takes away your...

The Canopy of Education
As her jeans trailed along the concrete floor
She pondered upon all that is and unsure
Walking to a lecture, reeking of beer
Clasping nothing but passion, pens and fear
Passing one building to enter another
Safe under the canopy of education
Sheilding you from what is, under a cover
That hides a blackness of a infinite dissapointment
A constant loss of a spirit
A constant soul in constant bereavement
So lost inside concrete and achievements
Every set back a cause for personal penitence
Safe under the canopy of education
She pondered upon all that is and unsure
Walking to a lecture, reeking of beer
Clasping nothing but passion, pens and fear
Passing one building to enter another
Safe under the canopy of education
Sheilding you from what is, under a cover
That hides a blackness of a infinite dissapointment
A constant loss of a spirit
A constant soul in constant bereavement
So lost inside concrete and achievements
Every set back a cause for personal penitence
Safe under the canopy of education
