Hi, I have been writing off and on since as long as I can remember. I occasionally take a hiatus, but always come back inspired with new poetry each time. I would love to be a published writer someday, but as long as my poetry inspires, I'm happy.

My Missing Friend
What happened to us, my friend?
We used to be so close once,
And talk throughout the night
Until the early morning.
Everything has changed though,
Now you are a stranger to me
And we barely ever talk now.
How did this end up happening?
Was it that I did something wrong,
Not do something I should have,
Do you just not need me now,
Or are you just as busy as you seem?
You are happily remarried now
But have distanced yourself.
Was this on purpose my friend
Or just happenstance?
The romantic feelings I had...

Do I Dare?
We've made our little plan
Just like many times before
Which never seemed to manage
To come together right
Now we've reconnected again
And had our little pre-meeting
Exchange just like before
Which has me excited and waiting
I'm looking forward to seeing you
Quivering with anticipation
But after so many fail attempts
Do I dare?
Do I dare trust that this time
Things will be different
And we will actually see each other
After all this time we couldn't?
Do I dare get up my hope
That after the years

You come to me
When you need
To be reminded
Of the past
Of the good times

Leaving me
To pick up
The pieces

In and out

Push. Pull. Break.
Push away everyone close to me
Pull back from all who care
Break when everything becomes too much
This is a vicious cycle without end
I don't know how to break it myself
And a part of me doesn't want to
I know I can't do it alone
But how can I succeed
In this battle with my depression
Sooner or later, again and again
Everyone who tries to help

A Dip in the Pool
The feeling of the sun
Shining upon me
Darkening my skin
While lightening my hair
The not too cool
But not too warm
Water slowly beads off my skin
I am free and
I can just enjoy myself
Swimming back and forth
Enjoying the weightlessness
Of it all
As I just lay back
And close my eyes
Drifting back towards the side
So serene, so peaceful
Won't you join me?

Father's Day
I long for few things
As much as I long
For the little patter
Of small feet
Coming up
To give me a hug
And wish me the
Very thing I have longed
To hear for many years now
Ever since the first time
It was a possibility.
But as more and more
Years slip me by
I can't help
But wonder
If it will ever happen ,

Get to hear
A small voice say to me

For someone who wants
To help me fulfill
My goals and my dreams,
You sure know just
What you need to say
To smash them
All to pieces.
You want to help me,
To prepare me
For the real world,
But why must you
Work so hard to
Destroy my dreams
You don't like?
The person who made
You this way
Must be truly vile
To have made you
Give up some many
Hopes, goals, and longings,
Wishes, dreams, and desires.
To have convinced you
That only what's attainable
Is worth any merit....
