FORE FATHERS
Frost filled fields
Hard steel razors
Limping, chipping away
At the frozen layers of dirt
I watch as farmers slouch through the fields
Towards their inborn inheritance
Like a chain, keeping their sad, sagging, bones of flesh
Clinging to the land
Their fore fathers once bled over
Men, women, children, working
For what
For a hapless land that would rather suck them down like fertilizer
The land that provides the farmers
For a measly penance
To keep the equipment going
To feed their stomachs
To keep the government off their backs...
Hard steel razors
Limping, chipping away
At the frozen layers of dirt
I watch as farmers slouch through the fields
Towards their inborn inheritance
Like a chain, keeping their sad, sagging, bones of flesh
Clinging to the land
Their fore fathers once bled over
Men, women, children, working
For what
For a hapless land that would rather suck them down like fertilizer
The land that provides the farmers
For a measly penance
To keep the equipment going
To feed their stomachs
To keep the government off their backs...

NO NAME STAY
Sitting on a bar stool in a well lit night club
I begin to think
Drinking my beer
Watching two likeable people playing a game of pool
I begin to think
Thinking of the woman who played my heart
Like a neurotic percussionist
A friend comes up to me wanting to fight
To be offended
I look at him and smile
Take a swig off my beer and think
It's three in the morning
People are still running about
I'm still in the same bar stool where
I was five hours ago
Fourteenth beer
Still thinking
I begin to think
Drinking my beer
Watching two likeable people playing a game of pool
I begin to think
Thinking of the woman who played my heart
Like a neurotic percussionist
A friend comes up to me wanting to fight
To be offended
I look at him and smile
Take a swig off my beer and think
It's three in the morning
People are still running about
I'm still in the same bar stool where
I was five hours ago
Fourteenth beer
Still thinking

Blackout
Incestuous thoughts
remembering nothing
but knowing everything
time to time
space to space
empty box with no holes
a face with no eyes
perceived mental persecution
pounding with every sip
dark groomed figures
empty seats
broken bottles
showered from corner to corner
dropping back, realizing
a memory is a distant thought
nothing comes easy
every form of speech
hanging in a dirty closet
lost, feared, tormented
turn the light on
no more vision
it happens, it breaks
through in a gallant style
blackout
remembering nothing
but knowing everything
time to time
space to space
empty box with no holes
a face with no eyes
perceived mental persecution
pounding with every sip
dark groomed figures
empty seats
broken bottles
showered from corner to corner
dropping back, realizing
a memory is a distant thought
nothing comes easy
every form of speech
hanging in a dirty closet
lost, feared, tormented
turn the light on
no more vision
it happens, it breaks
through in a gallant style
blackout
