I started writing love letter 39 years ago at that time she was my girlfriend, married 38. to say I love you seemed never enough. so over the years i have written thousands of letters odes poems and notes some pretty good and some not so much

she ask me not to
she ask me not to
do not compare me to a rose
their value is over blown
there bought every week
for to many reasons
there nothing special you see
you say I am unique
and rose are just ordinary
it's the time and thought
not by the price it was bought
how well do you know me
it's carnations you love to see
you favorite is cream and cinnamon
one or twenty makes on difference you see
it's the thought that counts
so I by them out of the blue
to show my love for you
not because society says its time
do not compare me to a rose

she never knew
she never knew love with him
he was a villain a predator
the game he played
was to shop at the high school store
age was just a number
she was the victim of a cherry thief
it took a while to the truth
the victim was she
for her to begin to trust me
the for he love to flow free
what a beautiful gift she gave
her true gift of virginity
that thief didn't get the gift she gave me
she never knew love with him

fill sufficiency
almost overnight it grew
to me it was true
the love I had for you
my heart knew it was right
that first dance that first night
you filled that empty spot
we all have got
when the right one comes along
I could only hope feelings shared
that night when we did part
as your tail light faded from that parking lot
my heart and soul knew
it to be true
by how much I was missing you
it wasn't the kisses I was a miss
more than a passing fancy
a void only you could fill sufficiency
to me it was true
the love I had for you
my heart knew it was right
that first dance that first night

can not see
the brightest smile
the darkest eyes
that sparkles
as the midnight stars
the body to rock most men's world
a few that don't like girls
she can't see what what we see
why men turn for a second look
and why women frown and scowl
her beauty comes in second
her personality over come
for her personality to shine through
that makes her most special
her full package is unique
some put on a façade
their beauty then you can not see
I thank God daily
for the complete lady he gave me

I loved you and waited for yours
the love you had wasn't full found
my love grew deeper and deeper
your love grew deep enough to wed
I waited for your hearts to catch up
anger and frustration kept creeping in
you said it as deep as it could get
yet your love wasn't from your heart
it was deeper than lust a deeper love
there was an emptiness it was trust
I knew to little or to much of your past
that's where I started to find your heart
you would get angry and say it was ugly and dark
it was in the past and left no scars ...
