I feel the BLOCK Function would be more effective if it was similar to how the Function operates on Facebook ----- where the perpetrator is unable to see / read anything anywhere (Group Forums / Threads or Poetry Profiles).

Just adding my 2 cents

on the other site, on the general board, it's pretty much a free for all... on the other forums, not so much and the trolls have to mind their p's and q's more. and you can be sure the kind of trolls there can't keep my name out of their mouths, day to day - they hate my 'progressive' nature, lol. i might see them if they're quoted, which people often do, or if i check for my name in a vanity search. the ignore button is your friend there thing is, i'm confident in who i am and so i can ignore them and not be at all bothered. people there know me well enough to know who i am and how much the trolls posting is just bullshit; it's not just me, the same trolls tend to go after anyone who doesn't embrace gun-culture with wide open arms, who doesn't think trump is better than sliced white, who believes in the equal rights of women & the lgbt(otherletters), who doesn't think all brown-skinned foreigners are invading hoardes... you get my drift. it's time-wasting to scroll past their posts, so iggy works better. you should be confident enough in who you are not to allow bull to bring you down. of course, there are people who are NOT strong, not confident, and i understand that entirely... i've made it a little crusade of mine to go after trolls picking on those people, but not in a retaliatory manner as a mod. as a non-mod, i'll bring them into public ridicule by exposing them.
as a mod, you watch for the posts and pass them up the line.

if they post personal information or accusations of, for example, paedophilia, take screen shots and report them - any admin worth its salt should remove those posts and, hopefully, the account

block them. do not engage unless you can do so without getting angry/hurt/upset

if people are a timesink - do not engage

if you see them bullying others - report
(be aware that your interpretation of bullying may be subjective and not at the level an outsider might consider harmful, just annoying or ridiculous)

don't expect to get along with everyone in a community but respect the other site members but trying not to create drama or break site rules because you think sauce for the goose... especially as a moderator.

if you can distance yourself from lies and involve yourself, instead, with being an active member then you'll allow others to make up their own minds as to who they believe you are as a person.

when push comes to shove, admin is admin and it's their site - they get to make the decisions. i'd imagine you are invested in this site and so remaining here should be a positive step for you - even if it can't help but gall to see those you believe guilty of all you state are still here, too. admin sounds quite generous in the respect that you are still here as a member after engaging as you did whilst still a mod.

try to enjoy your time here; concentrate on positive people, positive writing and don't allow others to have the power over you to spoil your experience of the site.

Here is a turn around I almost agree here with almost everything you say, however, there is a problem not only here but on the internet at large - It has a bullies charter abusive people can write vile poems and comments with impunity, they can destroy your own reputation with impunity. There is a simple trick to allow this to happen they write tis crap but don't mention names - that puts the webmiss and the mods in an impossible position with no direct evidence. But I have lots of evidence that is not postable. If ia posted the files of evidence that I have mentioned the perpetrator's name it would instantly be taken down and I would probably be banned for the site.

I think the trick now is to not react regardless. The unfortunate thing here is that the bullies win the day and can go on to treat others like shit in the future.

poetry has a long long history of being the vehicle to satirise people,  situations, governments and royal personages, social mores....

byron infamously penned English Bards and Scotch Reviewers in response to his first book publication being trashed. the poem first made its appearance anonymously but he rewrote it under his own name. oddly enough, it was the channelling of his embarrassment/anger that led to his writing of poetry far superior to his original work.

poetry is a voice - situations give create grist for its mill. if the individual it is written about goes unnamed, chances are some will know who is the subject, others only guess. if you want to respond, critique the poem for its technical/poetic styling. addressing the content, trying to call it out, is counterproductive.
