It started not so long ago.

Didn't seem that big yet

Blood spattered from eyelids.
Fevers and deathbed consequence.

But the proof lived in this dire strain!
Some think they have the cure!
But is it to late at this point for sure?
Do extinguish this hellish plague fire

corporate greed pining their time as so
many die. Watching the death wheel spin by.
They probably have it but at such a high cost.

I've watched indifferent people talk about it on the TV hung up on a wall in my palour
I've seen exasperating pictures of its victims. Pores running out of countless boils on their bodies. Blood pouring out of their noses or ears or mouths
I've read articles on doctors & nurses getting infected by the virus after caring for quarantined patients. They themselves became patients and were then quarantined
People talked, people got infected, new people get infected, infected people get quarantined, then they die

Every time there's a break out
there were always a few researcher types
scoping the surroundings and leaving with their findings
a few weeks back
then there's an inevitable monkey attack
from the formerly pacifist packs
and no prepared hospital for miles
just villagers with a fear of doctors
since seeing what came of the polio trials
just like AIDS and Marburg
Zaire or Sudan doesn't matter
to the faces that look away from the masses
like Rwanda and Sierra Leon had a virus
it's called money and elitist negligence
but fear the vaccines more than anything
genocide is a numbers game and we are too many
on a dying planet
nobody blames presidents for viruses
or the weather
but
watch for another tsunami too
