we scream
we whisper

the weight of our words are heavy
regardless the method of which we exert them.

my heart is beating a deadbeat to the groove of society
it is a hideous conformity i do not see fit.
everybody is living in a black and white world
and it is the ones who see grey who suffer
like the nether man who lives on the other side of
expected mentality.

they know what our minds are worth
if we merge together
as one,
the ones who promise change
are most afraid of change,
because the ones who control
will never be controlled;
we are forever, in the dark of their shadows
as they loom over us in the masks
of skyscrapers, billboards, television, plastic -
fucking plastic.

so everybody is a working mechanism,
they work to survive
they buy to survive
they consume to survive
we. they. we. they.
the braver hypocrites might say they work to rebel,
"at the end of the line".

it is an anger i cannot pinpoint a target for;
are the leaders at fault for the oppressive tone of life
or are the masses at fault for having fallen into its stupor,
fuelling the morphine into their own minds?

i pledge allegiance to nothing.
