Wow. So many great poems so far, it's going to be hard to choose! :D

Happy Halloween!

Things just don't seem right
out here on my street tonight

is nighttime always this black
maybe it's time I headed back....

before I bump into something creepy
or put my hand on something leaky

hope I don't meet up with a spider
oh, if only it were brighter

maybe I really am too young to be out here alone
why didn’t I listen, why didn't I stay at home!

what are all those shuffling sounds
who or what is twisting my head around

I hear voices! Can barely make out the words…
Who's that! What?!! My mask is on backwards?!!!

Me? No Mom, I didn't scream
I was just hollering….Happy Halloween!!!”

:hold me 2 the bladed kiss:
(Something really going on in my
 life.....)

while I ponder as a lackey of remissness.

Hold me accountable for more than my worth.
As I toil upon this mission and accursed Earth.

Hold the weight of a weary World.  Upon my brow
as what little sanity I have left unfurls.

Twas not my fault the words enticed me.
Like the sirens song so many sailors death call
came so precipitously.

It's haunting prelude bladed kiss.  Cut through
my neck and souls heart's wrist.

Life's haunting omen of clouded universal powers.
Gave me no room nor hope in those fleeting hours...

Life's haunting bladed tapestry of absolute infinite
providence.  Gave me no room for a breath of chance in this
quest of a demanding avalanche.

Being buried with my accursed finality.
This bladed kiss was such a cold diseased and untouchable
yet imprisoning reality.

Cadaver  Re-animate    ( SP Summerscales)

Church bells
and pitched roof of slate
in silence after they rang
a train went through a burial gate
a bird broke forth and sang.
tombstones anticipate
the rising of dead man
a rumbling underground
of shake
the drum begins to pound .

Remnant flesh
begins to stretch
as ancient sinues
re-connect
repulsive tissue
of thread bare
stuck onto skulls
with wisps of hair  .

Cadaver  re-animate
with a snapping , gristle sound
empty socket skulls awake
boney hands claw the ground
they scratch and scrape
the damp streets late
with gutteral , corpse , throat sound
looking for a life to take
with dragging steps unbound .

Strange things have been occuring in the Miller house lately. Writing on walls, children's laughter and footsteps throughout the house, doors opening and slamming shut by themselves and even the record player which hasn't worked in years found itself playing strange music. Who or what is haunting the Miller's house? Are they safe? Why is their house the one being haunted? Can they get the spirits out of their house before someone gets hurt?

Tonight's the night the streets will bleed
With children's laughter and sugary treats.
Ghosts, wolves, vampires, a real Halloween galore!
Save for that boy dressed up as dear Jason Voorhees.
He's ringing his bell and peddling his Schwinn
Swinging a bat riddled with razors and pins.
Thwack! goes the bed sheet, now laying in the street
Pooling in red, I thought ghosts couldn't bleed?
Thud! goes dear Lincoln now slumped to the curb
You know, he actually looks better with his features all stirred.
So off into the night wheels our savior vigilante
A Halloween hero we may deserve but not need.
