PUMP IRON~YOU ARE A BODYBUILDER!

poet Anonymous

I hope this meets the comp criteria

My days as a weightlifter

My class schedule changed
gave me two free hours
Thought I'd unwind at the gym
so I bought a pass

Three days a week
running and lifting
toning my core, sounded easy
It wasn't...

The first time felt like a beating
Places ached that I never knew I had
Things got overly hectic when
a weightlifter helped me solve that

Muscles need protein, he said
you have to cut out all the carbs
Chicken for breakfast and dinner
a protein shake on the side

Soon I was so sick of chicken
and my BMI haunted my brain
The muscle stacked beings around me
were starting to drive me insane

Bench-pressing and Muscle magazine
Talking tones and cuts
I preferred the Jacuzzi
and Chinese food when done

So, I quit
went to the library instead
I still think about that place
when I see a chicken breast

*BMI = Body Mass Index

I will see if I can get my head around one, but it will have to be as an observer rather than a partaker.

Pumping Iron

My own personal show
he liked to pose for my eyes
skin waxed and oiled
a muscle bound
mesmerizing view

Abs and thighs
was the first pose he struck
got me from the start
crab most muscular
caused a sensual shiver
down my spine

his front lat spread
was where I wanted to be
inviting me
with his hands on hips
I was fidgeting in my seat
he was solid all over

I licked my lips
as the sweat dripped down
his roped torso
in an impulse he started
pumping iron
I hung my tongue out in awe
and caught the essence
of his show

hetasteddivine!

and then I showed him what I could do~~~~

Baby, feel my biceps

Rubbing Pam throughout
Every muscle on my copper
Toned body for a shine
To catch the light just right
Tonight. To articulate
The definition of what
A man to the nth degree
Looks like making bitches
Out of the other posers.

The fruits of my labor gained
From the grunting of the strain,
The sweet burn after the last
Barbell clangs on the concrete.
From the needle on my ass,
Through the powders and pills,
Tonight the long and lonely
Exercise of diehard diligence
Ejaculates in gladiator scale.

It was never about sand on face
On some forlorn beach with bullies
Whipping towels on my bony butt.
You wouldn't look at me unless I
Stood larger than life. A cartoon
Character.  An action figure.
I will flex for many eyes on stage
Tonight but yours are the only
Pair I ever cared to impress.

Fellow Poets,
I was hoping for more entries, but those poems that were entered were all excellent.  Pena played the character, Miki lived it a bit and Magdalena took bodybuilding to new heights!!!  Loved them all.

Thanks to those poets who entered the competition....keep writing!

Strider :)
