The Darkness Within

ONCE UPON TALE

Born from the wreckage
Of castles made of sand
He lived secluded
Only came to understand

That the darkest of night
Could comfort and ignite
The wisdom worlds
Of forest and fortress

Locked away
He hid from the light
Life long astray
Finding solace in night

Once upon a hunters moon
The dark spoke back at him
The ghost gathered in his head
The spirits of the dead

Necromantic voices
Chanted burial hymns
Death rattled its bones
As he casted his runestones

The wheel of Life
Turned as evil eyes
Started to see
Newborn truth

Regained innocence
Returned his youth
The poisoned cup fell down
Over the leafless ground

The dark had its reasons
For it knows
The language of all seasons
Dawn came, soon

He opened the door
Whistled a tune
Wind swept over
The trees

Damp rose from the field
Autumn now gone
As snowqueen soon would come

Streaming, I scream
- Look at me!
From within my fragile
yet bloated body.

Clenching fists,
I project an air of lenience,
yet inside, a black-haired boy
with wings and scales and wounds
thrashes.

No tears, no tears.
A flushed face and a raw nose
suggests this internal beast
is beginning to escape,
through my fingers,
through eyes.

- Look at me!
And no-one does,
and it rages once again
as I walk slowly with it.

Mother may I
bleed your flesh
until your bones are dry...

I am the high priestess
a reign of hate
my every intention
to fill you with pain...

To curse your soul
kill your mind
give you the life of a beast...

i was left banned to hell
i can not bleed
i can not shed a tear
to kill is my only will...

You are frozen
with one last icy breath
Mother your time has come...

I imprisoned you
in my dark garden of hell
this spell of evil
hears your frozen scream...

There is no other way
the end is near
for this tragic romance...

In my beautiful garden of death
hangs your heart carved of stone
such and enchanting decoration
for my fire and brimstone...

As your loveliness fades away
your one mistake
was a high price to pay...
