The Wicked Rest, But Never Sleep
Sleep is cheap, so close your eyes
You may rest, but do not expect a dream
The creatures have gathered in mortal disguise
They aren’t pretty, nor kind as they might seem
What’s natural doesn’t come naturally
And if it happens, does it?
My name is “who?” And my age is “actually”
But lately I go by “hypocrite”
Reality prescribed me a hard pill to swallow
The council has arrived
Regardless, I must follow
Succumbing is how I have survived
I didn’t open my eyes yet
Yours won’t open again. Please, don’t be upset
