How I Burnt My Soul

Late-night TV, a twisted friend,
In a dingy hotel, thoughts never end,
Drowning in liquor, can't silence my mind,
You took my soul, left me shattered, left me blind.

Far from home, you left me sore,
Memories claw at my soul's core,
But I stumbled on, tried to be strong,
You did me dirty, you did me wrong.

Now I'm trapped in a prison of fear,
Knew you craved him, it was clear,
Blade in hand, no escape this time,
Facing arrest for a crime is undefined.

Our connection burned in a furious storm,
You taught me torment in its purest form,
My soul was ablaze, lost in the night,
The end of us, a sorrowful plight.

Regret won't mend this misery,
You never gambled it all for me,
Now gasoline ignites my despair,
You snared my soul, like a devil's dare.

Heart pounding, nowhere left to hide,
Room consumed, flames lick the sky,
Swear to God, you venomous snake,
I loved you, curse the day I did.

Charred to ashes, I grasp at peace,
In the final moments, I find my release,
Knowing I'll never be the same,
My soul is on fire, engulfed in shame.
