poem of the month February

poet Anonymous

The Dead Practice Death (better get The Hang of it ! )

Practice dead.
Go'head.
Ain't any life 'round here anyways.
Go'head.
Play dead.
Practice 'til ye get it down, fucker.
Y'know. Practice 'til perfect, and shit like that.
Death practice, hey kiddies, Practice !)
Practicing Dead
(Go'head.....
get outta The fckn Way,
damn'it.

Practically dead.    And
Deadly practicle ! )
(O, deathly doodah day!)

The dead shall inherit Thee Earth.
(Man, that's a lotta dirt ! )
("40 acres and a mule", daddyo. Cain't kick'bout that ! ).

And wings....like Noah's dove.

Bones

I am only bones here
I am only bones

To open jaw
Gaping clack and click
Monstrous sockets

See hollow
See darkened deep for eyes
Seeing no purpose for flesh without fate

Without the spiritual meat
Godliness
Without agape to limber the ligament

(and I fall carelessly, easily into my stride.... without cause to gawk and gawk again over my shoulder and forward again)

(and over wing like a bird, smooth movement over wing without hesitation... no falsehood in my transition, only smooth movement over wing)

I am only bones here
I am only bones

That wear on stone the callous of pearl
Or alter themselves, the appearance of sediment
When horizontal I am a torrent bed
When vertical, hollows to see the horizon

(and the labyrinth life lay below me, and I see the beginning as it attaches itself to the middle, and into the end without fear... my view from a face that turns over wing.. smoothly.)

Angstloch

The thin oak planks rang out and stretched like the lashes on my back. I love her.
Ancient whispers of bread crusts and murky puddles in my rusted platters. We dance.
Organization of our soldered genitalia. Like a Chagal. Like a blueprint of winding afterlives.
Forever and ever and ever, my honey-soaked and lock-jawed bride. Animal hides and the erudite silk of dead eyes.
Her fingers grip the fibers of my aqueducts, click of motors. Bare bodies under the blankets of tongue-like leathers and permanent need.
Flowers for Christ. Oils from our severed, thick leg machines. Standing like memoria.
Her eyes reported me to the sindicate. Her waves spin tales of Oceana or Oceanus.
Lips that read the bare voice of my entrails.

temporal manifesto for the necessity of poets

steel hand blades sketch
with a discerning feather touch

for the surgeon
precise cuts are the line between
van gogh brush strokes

painting eyes in gold
country suns
and the eternal ink of oblivion

but you poet
dirty nails clawing
the refuse of words

your garbage skin
reeks needled abuse
and primping egotism

the jagged art of your rusty
word pills and bruised
arrow pierced bodies

punch and kiss themselves
with nails to hang
from the gallery of tongues

no immaculate lie
to save us now

we lie like dogs
in this ass sniff
wound lick charade

your loathing tongue mind
drips gristle  words
like grease blood into the moon
howl throat of death

up to her hips now in amputated limbs
the surgeons scalpels long replaced with saws

the golden gough sun a red musket ball
smeared in bite the whiskey bullet  cries

like bayonet lullabies drifting
to pine needle dreams

a brown dead-hair of tree bed
to cradle our fetal  bodies
in the pain milk of night

till the waking  snake
choke day break thrum
of each buzz flock whale wailing
moan  migrates to memory

from you poet
dirty nails clawing
the refuse of words

Sorry for making a post without an entry but I'm finding it difficult to narrow my next 2 selections.  Not complaining but excited.  I knew poetry is nice but didn't know know.

Hell And Peace

Dear psychosis,
Lowly your voice howls
Within the wintry confines of my mind.
Now is the winter
Of my discontent.

I feel your veil
over my eyes thickening.
What is reality? I reach for it,
But with broken hands,
I can no longer grasp.

And now as the veil thickens,
I feel a coexistence
between peace and hell.

The serenity of my beach
Is beaten by the waves of lava.
But I want to dip my foot in,
And be consumed
With your fiery embrace.

You did Thank you so much for nominating!

I just told my friend Corine, who inspired it, and she was thrilled. It was the first time she had ever been a muse for a poem - hint, it won't be the last
