Note: Moon OOB: inspiritualservice.com/astrology-articles

First Quarter ( Half Moon ) OOB Moon in Capricorn @ 2:55 PM EDT, 1st House, the natural home of Aries ruled by Mars. This energy symbolizes new beginnings, our outlook on life, physical appearance, and personality.

The Libra Sun is also squared off with this Lunation. Both signs are cardinal signs, which means when these transits come together, it’s time to rebalance and realign. This quarter Moon brings balance and harmony (Libra) to our work (Capricorn).

While much attention has been given to the New and Full Moons, there is great significance in alternative phases as well. For example, the first quarter moon can be seen as a symbol of growth and planning. This is because the moon is burgeoning toward the fullness of her light.

This is called the "yang" phase, a masculine reference which implies strength and determination to achieve the fullness of one's goals. This aligns with the Spring months - a time of work and preparation to reap the harvest of labor. Rest will come in the symbolic winter, or "yin" phase of the Moon.

It's an opportune time to pause and re-evaluate the plan we've drafted in order to reach our goals. While this Lunar stage has already gone from new to waxing crescent, it now observes a sacred pause to briefly consider its next phase: Waxing Gibbous.

Taken symbolically or metaphorically, perhaps it's a lunar sign for us to observe a sacred pause in our own life. Be proud of how much we've accomplished and just double-check our headings. Make sure our inward compass is pointed in the right direction. It would be shame if the needle wasn't magnetized, and we found our self going in circles.

Regardless, the focus is growth and forward movement through the unknown phases of darkness until fully illuminated. This darkness could include doubts or fear; and those emotions/thoughts should be honored as they rise. The purpose here is to shine the light on them by giving them the space they need to express themselves prior to releasing them to transmute into something more positive for us and humankind.

Just look at the moon. Regardless of the depth of darkness, it continues forward, inching light across every section of its orb until there is no darkness that can be seen.  Harness the energy of this phase. Integrate it into your being and move forward on your chosen path. Cultivate your manifestation steps!  Rest comes after the Harvest.
Literally.

In many traditions and cultures, the moon is the symbol of women. She represents femininity, through her beauty and softness. In astrology, the moon represents “our dreams, our memories, our imaginary world. It is the guardian of what we deeply are and cannot change: our inner child, our deep instinct and our primary need for security”.

Pluto Stations direct 29°38' in Capricorn tonight @ 8:32 PM EDT, 9th House, the natural home of Sagittarius ruled by Jupiter. This will be Pluto's final station in Capricorn in preparation to permanently ingress into Aquarius November 19 @ 3:40 PM, 11th House.

Pluto recap: This cosmic harbinger of destruction and regeneration, is the farthest from the Sun. Its orbit is the most eccentric in our solar system and is also known as the slowest. It takes approximately 248 years to travel through the zodiac, staying in each sign between 12 ( Scorpio - Dignity ) - 32 years ( Taurus - Detriment ).

It is known as the third transcendental planet whose influence is not immediately felt by the individual.

With anything that takes time, Pluto's eventual impact is deep and far reaching. And the entrance into a new sign leaves an imprint on an entire generation. Thus, it is heralded as the generational planet, as its transit into a new sign initiates a new generation.

When studying your natal chart, pay particular attention to which House Pluto resides; it indicates insight into the role you may be destined to play. And because it takes time to impact you, its function conjuncts with the passage from the South to the North Node ( what you're born into and your destiny ).

Pluto rules our deepest subconscious and embodies the principle of transformation and regeneration; thus, it can bridge the spiritual and material worlds. It may be small, but the old cliche that dynamite comes in small packages has never rung truer than now.

Capricorn is the Cardinal sign of the South and has the power ( along with the three other Cardinal signs ) to govern the change of seasons. And this doesn't just mean weather-wise. It also means the seasons of humanity. Not only does Capricorn govern the South, but the season of winter as well.

Pluto was last in Capricorn from 1762 to 1778. This was the time of the Declaration of Independence, the Boston Tea Party, Watts invention of the Steam Engine and the reign of Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette.

The Industrial Revolution was in full swing, and the rigidity of many governments of the time led to rebellions and uprisings in later years.  Its ingress in 2008 corresponded with the Great Recession. Each of these crises, while encompassing Capricorn virtues of ambition and authority, had their origins in another sign: Perpetually optimistic Sagittarius, where unchecked governmental and economic institutions had been deemed too big to fail.
