Lost Love

Lost Love
†††
She curled up there in the darkness,
In the corner where no one could see,
On edges of the tombstones,
Her heart is shattered, and it bleeds.

Everything thing around her everchanging,
The whole world distorted and insane,
She feels that no place is safe anymore,
And it is taking a toll on her brain…

She knew better than to come here,
She knew it would only bring pain,
Tears wither down to soil her cheek,
Her mind now lost in the love of the game…

Her eyes try to pierce the darkness,
Terror reigns just beyond the night sky,
Her head spinning like the web of a widow,
Her heart broken and her soul contrite…

No one can hear her screaming,
It’s mostly because no one cares,
The one she loved gone forever,
And it is more pain than she can bare…

There was no denying she loved her,
Their souls seemed to be intertwined,
When together they didn’t even need to speak,
They could just stare into each other’s eyes…

But all that they had is gone now,
She has only herself now to blame,
A memory sealed in the darkness,
Her head hangs down in the shame…

It is over

Hello exvso8M1. I’m afraid this entry won’t be counted as valid. It doesn’t fit the brief and it’s not new. If you would like to replace it you are more than welcome. Thanks.

ORDINARY ART

when
i slipped
the chain
i was bright
and wide as air
and everything
shimmered
in the ether
holy as
da vinci's christ
and me,
small and plain
as dirt,
wondering
how to make
my blue
endless
and my silver
bright
as stars

and how i stacked my words
just so
word on word on word,
stacked
and restacked
and polished that pillar
stark against
this small sky
'til it rolled like a prayer
off my tongue
and every stroke
of brush
and song
and chord,
i knew,
at least,
was me

The spokes of morning

The new day is the canvas stretched
not old dried painted chips
new sap that flows through branch and twig
cock crows, rouse sleepy hens

To raise the bugle to the lips
how welcome is the smell
as the bacon starts to crisp
summoning the nights farewell

Aromas, as the dawn lights the dewy sill
a background, that is just infill
the day is poised with crayon raised,
just outlines brushed in hues of haze

Old church bell chimes, the quarter past
the minute hand, the tillers spokes that spin
eye to mind, the will to make a start
to correlate the fusion of each whim

Download the dreamcatcher's web
as you laid and rested
tossed and turned, digested
hatched and fertilized the egg

The violins, to hear its single voice
and swaying pull the bow
 standing as soloist
the lone chorister on the breakfast show

Journey Of The Night Watches

First Watch : 6pm-9pm

O, hearken, now, and dim the lights
as glory fills, first watch, of nights
and Heaven's veils are slowly drawn,
signaling the day is gone.
Take up your posts, ye watchmen, strong --
the birds have hushed, their solemn song .

Second Watch: 9pm-12am

Civil Twilight flashes green
on horizons seldom seen
unless ye know just where to look
to find the passage, some forsook ;
through eye of needle, light the way--
darkened night, replaced the day.

Third Watch: 12am-3am

O' gird your souls with prayers, strong,
lest evildoers come along
in dreams, disguised, to sow dismay --
hold fast to words the Lord did say:
"Shields up, to fend off fiery darts,
sword and armors , 'cross thy heart!"

Fourth Watch: 3am-6am

Tis now the nearing of the hours
when beasts of night, shall shrink and cower
back to shadows, while we praise
the Son of Light and dawning day.
Birds, a-chirp, to usher in
news of battles, won, within.

The stairway to your soul

There’s a lady who’s for sure
never have wet met, but she know
blue yonder, I’m her forever more
in this journey, the heavens will show

the way to the moments of glitter
memories beyond years of Twitter
we will meet or not, does it matter?
the astral travel is always on platter!

sign’s on the wall, a songbird sings
moments for all, two she’s seems seeing
for sure, these soulmates are amazing
but just like words, they can have two meanings

words on the wall, they do disappear
moments by the mirror, she’s sincere
imprinting upon me, a love is just near
whispers in my ear, sweet words to hear!

it’s the passion, they rule the game
with its glitters, your bound by fame
alluring beauty, you know thy name
ravenous, a beautiful shrew to tame

mesmerizing, ohh.. the beauty of your eyes
tantalizing, awww... the softness of your lips
hypnotizing, dearly me... the subtle smile of your gaze
enchanting, oh yes... when your body’s locked in my squeeze

to caress your glory, a desire I do confess
to kiss you plenty, this ain’t no contest
never a moment, the intent is to distress
but passionately, your dress I will undress

hopelessly in a worldly disconnect we hold
tonguetied, your imaginary kiss warms my blood that was once cold
i always sensed that passionate fire in your soul
perhaps one day together we would combust and be whole

locked around my neck, your slender arms
wrapped around my hips, your lovely legs
pressed against my chest, yours supple breasts
infused in my heart, the stairway to your soul

Lost Girl

where does the little girl go?

where does she go?

I want to tell her it’s ok to need the wind
whipping through her long, wild hair

when her soft, bare feet have
grown calloused, running
out of lush, green grass and
her face no longer basks
unapologetically in the sun

where does she go?

I want to tell her it’s ok to need to be held
by those supposed to love you most

when her arms cease reaching
upwards to be cradled against
her mother’s breast,
and her chin becomes too wise
to rest on her father’s shoulder

Where does she go?

I want to tell her it’s ok to need to feel safe
inside her own skin

when her eyes that once searched
the skies for every visit by the moon
now settle downward, her heart hiding
within musky, dog-eared pages,
escaping under shady backyard trees

where does the little girl go?

The Artist will out

As we trudge across town
drowning in a down pour
to reach the frozen sanctuary
of a cold kitchen,
we notice the intricate patterns
that pool at our feet
and listen to the rhythm
of our chattering teeth.

As we storm out of the house
with our temper at full sail
canvas already torn,
We notice the cobweb
that cantilevers the fence post,
caught electric white
by a deep calming frost.

Our songs are crafted in carbon
poured out over paper, mixed
with oil, thinned and repainted,
reworded as we clear our throats
ready to sing so loud
that the birds will stop and listen.
