there's enough poets to bury the sun
I only write at night
usually in silence
or whatever
the weather gives me
always the same tricks:
love
how I miss it
when I have it
lust
because I'm human
and aging
hate
for myself and my own
kind
philosophy
I know almost nothing
and believe in less
weather
because I thought
I was writing poetry
and what is it without
a mention of
wind, rain, sun and
the moon never looks real
to me
and it's not
like a babbling child
stuffing
whatever fits in its mouth
learns what it is
never tasted moon before
I'm feeling bodies away
from myself
and introspective
on nights like this
when I feel it all flush out
to slowly die
everyone's a poet these days
writing about flowers
and angels
and the soul of God
that they've never, ever
tasted
I'm no poet
I'm just nettlesome
relaxing aloud
letting you read me breathe
in and out and
in

Something I really like about your writing... Seemingly boo hoo doom n gloom, but a real redeeming honesty in your questioning,n seeking, for me. Also like that you seem to steer clear of sounding elitist, which is easy to do when you delve into these things. Another enjoyable read...
Second weather,should it be whether?

No such thing as a fool, just bad judges of character.

can't recall if i replied a bit snappily to a message you sent.
if I did, apologies, if not, never mind./
describing your poem- it's like dreaming wakefulness, that strange sense that your head is floating just above you. I'd call it genius. And I'm not being kind. You may not be a poet, but you sure can write poetry.

Erm... not that I recall.
If you're not being kind then you must be crazy haha.
Far to generous and I thank you for it.

Wow, Gail - name suits your comments well.
I love the way you read into it, I kind of worried that it was lacking a certain depth or something else, but I think that's also its quality.
Thank you so much for your excellent feedback.

Well, that outlook only affirms your intelligence. The smartest "man" in the world is the one who admits that which he does not know.

I think that's subjective, but if I read quick I read: you're the smartest man in the world...
and that is a lie, and I thank you for it.

"I know almost nothing. . ." Then you write a marvelous poem about negaive experience: real, fascinating, and "yes" you are a poet, one beyond compare.

I suppose we'll never know. Coherent originality is a rare thing; it's far to late in the world's time. We can just write what we can/want. Thanks for the visit.

Is it? Always imagined the texture of the moon to be more dusty and dreams more like potatoes.
Cheers for the visit.

Jesus Alptraum, I just don't read as much as I should. I missed this one entirely until you put it into that comp. Fine piece. Not anything to add that hasn't already been covered above. Late to the party, but I'll put it in my list.
