I didn't even notice until it smacked me in the face.
That I'm over you.
That no matter how much I love you, I'm putting myself first.
I won't fall back into your lies and two faced bull.
This is a radical act of self love.
I'm going to find someone who deserves ME.
That treats me right.

I know it's late.
You're probably asleep.
But i just couldn't stop thinking about you.
Do you remember our first kiss?
I do. God do I ever.
10th grade. Field trip to wherever with that teacher we hated.
In the very back of the bus you kissed me and my heart nearly beat out of my chest.
I don't remember the trip just you.

Butterflies
Little boy, so lost, so forgotten.
Sit at the roots of a tree, dead and rotten.
He can't find his way home,
So he just sits and cries ,
And waits for a visit from the butterflies.
The butterflies come to the flower, ripe and sweet.
They land on the boy every night before sleep.
And during the days, he scrubs his flesh,
And tries to get rid of the tempting sweetness.
The butterflies were pretty, calling his name.
He followed them to the field, now that's where he lays.
The lost little boy was never forgotten,
Sitting under the tree...

Words dont fit (a companion to Voice)
I can talk, ya know.
I can rhyme, i can feel, i can...
Some people wouldnt know it.
I can piece together words like an engineer,
Designed to worn a certain way,
And never give anything away.
I can paint, too, with my words.
The ocean, the stars, the gods.
Maybe i can't always say them,
But i can make them.
So when my voice doesn't work,
And my words dont fit in my mouth,
I use a voice thats different, cloaked and veiled.
I use a voice thats buried deep at sea.
I blend words like colors, and phrases like food.
And you might never...

Voice
When i was little
I wasn't allowed to cry.
I wasn't always allowed to talk.
Allowed to breathe.
Maybe thats why...
When my friends are hurt,
Or its something i believe in,
I'll yell so loud that the gods could hear me.
But when i hurt,
When i want to cry,
I shut up.
I shut down.
I've scared my friends like that, ya know.
They try to make me talk,
My voice wont work.
I can't make it work.
I can't get out the words i need to say.

Midnight Thoughts
I am the wind
And my lover is the sun.
And although we never truely touch
We come together to create a beautiful day.
The songs of birds
Are the tales of our love.
The howl of the wolves are the cries of our sorrow.
I am the snow that falls from the sky.
She is the moon that keeps my cold secrets.
And when morning comes, everybody awakens to see the results
Of our frozen afair.
The laughter of children is the voice with which she speaks to me,
And i speak back by becoming something new.
I am the rain that brings down the tree.

The King Of Hell
The god of the dead sits at his throne.
Stares at the domain, he can't call his own.
For what can he do, but sit a wait.
For more dead to arrive, that is everyones fate.
He wishes he could join them and finally rest,
But his life never ending, patience put to the test.
The god of the damned is the truly damned soul,
Destined to life eternal, stuck in this hole.
No company at his side except for the dead,
He finds himself lonely, though he's never said.
He has no temples, no worship, no glory.
They think him evil, mean, gruesom and gory. ...

I'm no less than you.
I don't have any talent.
That's what they tell me.
They tell me
I'm not good enough,
Not smart enough,
That I'm never trying hard enough,
Even when the world is falling down around me,
They don't care.
Maybe I'm missing something.
I'm not rich,
I'm not pretty,
I'm not perfect,
I have a criminal record,
But that doesn't mean I'm not a person.
Even when MY world is burning down,
They expect me to work while breathing smoke.
I mean, it doesn't effect them, so my problems are a joke.

Mommy please stop yelling.
It makes me want to cry.
I didn't mean to make you mad.
I know you want me to die.
I'll go to sleep this time, I promise.
Even though I'm scared.
Because every time I go to sleep,
I feel the monsters, in my hair.
On my back, on my ankles,
On my stomach on my arms,
But you promised me, even though they hurt, they weren't doing any harm.
So I had to promise not to ever tell,
Because then I'd be a bad bad girl,
And I would go to...
The monsters in my bad bad dreams, they kinda look like you. ...
It makes me want to cry.
