Yes, the breeze was freshening. The boat was leaning, the water was sliced sharply and fell away in green cascades, in bubbles, in cataracts. Cam looked down into the foam, into the sea with all its treasure in it, and its speed hypnotised her, and the tie between her and James sagged a little. It slackened a little. She began to think, How fast it goes. Where are we going? and the movement hypnotised her, while James, with his eye fixed on the sail and on the horizon, steered grimly. Words feed my soul the way food and drink feed my body. I could live without them for a time, but then I would wither away. A husk of what could be. What am I looking for? I honestly don't know. Some sort of a connection.

Sedentary horses march through dreams with guffaws of humility joints, mechanical as rust blistering gear-locked boneyard monuments, screeching sardonic thrusts, at the base of every free turn while every good boy does fine, and doe eyes of the stranger curves slap the retina shift into overdrive. Speakers serenade traveling lyke wakes by means of fervent dirge, skipping, refracting each stilled crackle into a universe, like a whip, like a forged victim bleeding, their voice shaking, bewildered, work worn eyes tearing, empires collapsing into scattering neros that dissipate...

alien kisses stitched her mouth shut
giggle balloons are always seeking gravity
countdown began at the last year of her first century
she gleaned all the manuals with laser retinas
she filed the textbooks in cashe sensors
central processing sharks fishing for pirates adventuring
my story stilled stage four ventricle spasms
the canvas trumps the sonar rhythm's whisp
the harmonic oscillator dilates with rapier sheen
illuminating the sacred penitentiary

splay the children of dawn's sabbat
grab it and call the color white
raze the haze with succinct pulses
pray to the pulpit
carpet consumes the knees of clergy
deem me the christ of the slain
corpse creatrix
tighten it
right-en it
fight me, despite me
say what the echo says
presence shadows presence
moment spawns
whispered faunings,
enchantments,
with the curves of luscious
lips
each word crushes
it

wide eyed sobriety
destiny
the night settles in plight
intent wrestles...

She sleeps in my jeans, she sleeps in my cot. She's anchored to the resilient floor shine on the waxed barracks. six sestinas written to the wind, in the rain, with chalk
nobody knows the cure for her whimpering
she concludes that she must not write
her lips pursed tightly as she cuts her hand
off
her magnitude dwindles
her heave deflates
that which was thrust is now conquered teem
fire freezes water when she attempts word
the baby was born glaucous
without breath
she needs satisfaction
nothing can sate!
she enjoys frustration of trying
she brags about her crying
she can't talk
her tongue has been usurped
nobody knows the cure for her whimpering
