Dots and Lines
Above the high-rise buildings
with their rectangles
and squares of light
Above the Circle K sign
in the distance
Above the restaurant across the street's
clusters of patio lights,
in the murky gray night sky
with its blinking dots of helicopters and planes
the ISS enters from the Northwest,
just like the app said it would.
It's a bright silver dot
on the horizon
but small
a modest engagement ring's diamond
From the astronauts' perspective
250 miles above
North America is a...

Little Bit Past
The flowers are wilted
sting in the air
leaves mourn
dropping in despair
held on tight
still our hands slipped free
all seemed lost
we broke our decree
strived for salvation
redemption for me
flowers stayed dead
Iost all belief
carryng the weight
of all the dead leaves
the rose not bloomed
lily yet cast
my beautiful bouquet
i loved you till the end
and a little bit past
sting in the air
leaves mourn
dropping in despair
held on tight
still our hands slipped free
all seemed lost

Cosmic inharmony
Projecting our desires upon the fragile
lessens the absolute
I pine, soulfully
doubting whether this upset
is merely a tremor in our confinement
or a cosmic inharmony
I am sceptical of our union
Perfect life on film
But behind the scenes,
the residuals are of resentment
feathered with spite
The words bleed off your tongue
like a symphony, amiss
You force feed me kisses
To appease the lies
That our coupling is crumpling
I agonize over the verbal bruises
that shade my...

We Can Survive This
We still travel close
you and I
even in separation
we are forever
bonded by the children
Even in
anger, hurt
- the defeat
I can still love
from a safe distance
I'm no longer ashamed
that what I gave
turned out temporary
or that the heat between us
vanished in the midst
of the many changes
But we can't forget
that there were always
exterior forces
exerting unnecessary pressures
and pulling us from
the sanctuary of each other
And eventually,
we can't...

We had our fun
We had good times
Something, I suppose
To call a good life
Together we climbed mountains
And strolled along the shore
Living and loving fully
Until it was no more
We had good times
Something, I suppose
To call a good life
Together we climbed mountains
And strolled along the shore
Living and loving fully
Until it was no more

Alien
It’s a seed sprouting,
a cold plant, spreading like a misty
forget-me-not.
When the familiar becomes thin, veiled
without colour or substance.
Far-off, disconnected,
as if I had been transported, between
blinks, to a pale Andromedean planet
with unfathomable languages and unrecognisable shapes.
The grass is green, but
not. The sky is blue, but not. The sun shines hot
but with a stony face.
Everything orbits a glowing abyss ,
and distant events and...

The Little Shul in Manchester, UK
Aged five. The Sabbath.
In the morning, we took a walk to the synagogue in Cheetham Hill The Little Shul, as we referred to it. We lived in a three-bedroom terrace house in Sedgley Road, about two miles from the centre of Manchester.
The houses surrounding the one in Sedgley Road had privet hedges out by the fronts, along with the damp look common to properties in the north of England. A few minutes away stood a huge Catholic Church on the main road.
This building for whatever reason would conjure up images in my mind of fried cashew nuts...

No direction just follow what you know
Hello stranger
It's been many long years
Since I first held you against my skin
Despite that gap in between dimensions
You and I share a very special connection
As separate ripples ripple their own way
So do they inevitably return to source
The stories each has to tell the other Kiddo
That will happen in due course
This I am sure
