Happy Birthday, Mom - Part XII
Your death came as a surprise, it certainly wasn't foretold.
If you hadn't died, today you would've turned 76 years old.
I learned that you were terminal shortly before you died.
When your life ended, people were sure to be misty-eyed.
If you were still alive, I'd be spending your birthday with you.
When I say that you had love and respect, it is certainly true.
If you hadn't died, today you would be eating your birthday cake.
When I found you dead, it was almost too much for me to take.
Your death was upsetting, painful and very hard for me to face. ...

Something happened eleven years ago that was sad.
After he battled Leukemia for many months, I lost Dad.
I thought he'd live longer but he died at the age of sixty-five.
He took chemotherapy for over 18 months but he could no longer survive.
When he died, I had to say goodbye.
I lost him in 2013 on the 13th of July.
Dad couldn't beat Leukemia even though he tried.
It was terrible because 11 years ago today, he died.

My Baby Doll - Part VIII
It was a day that every pet owner has to face.
You died four years ago and it was a disgrace.
Since you died, I've lost more dogs than you.
My heart was broken last year when I lost two.
Just one year ago today, I had three dogs but now I only have one.
When it came to losing you and my other dogs, I would've rather been shot by a gun.
You were my baby doll and I found you dead four years ago tonight.
Each and every person who has lost a dog can understand my plight.
When I say that I loved you and my other two dogs, it's no lie.
My heart was...

Letters from my Aunt #6
Sixteen years before I'm posted to Deutschland
another operator on a morse key,
transcribed a message with his guitar playing hands
and that was sent to Ike then, on to history...
Johnny Cash on Stalin's death set some folk free
and meant the simmering cold war stayed, just cold
and evesdropping became that key
but, I guess that story's been done, and told?
That was our dream to get the world spanned
by some huge news back in nineteen sixty-nine and we, ...

Letters from my Aunt #8
Back in nineteen hundred and sixty-nine
on the deep water jetty of al Muharaq,
three kliks from Manama on Bahrain isle,
a gray nuclear powered warship of the USA steamed back
from Vietnam where its huge shells attacked
positions of the commie Viet-Cong,
and me, a bit scared, in my telegraphists shack
hoped that those on R&R would soon be gone...
It was, briefly, a kinda anxious time
as I keyed in my reports in that little shack,
on the long finger of that jetty's quarter mile
back to land, then to Manama town down...

No Blood, No Fowl
Once upon a world at war; July 5th 1943??? Franklin Delano Roosevelt and Winston Leonard Churchill were knee deep into their bombing campaign against Adolf 'no middle name' Hitler.
This was known as “Operation Pointblank” should this question ever decide a CITIZENSHIP?
During this offensive??? The United States would pool in (just by itself???) over a million and a half TONS worth of Earth chewing noise makers in order to help carve out all that strategic European countryside in an attempt to castrate Charley Chaplin's fascist soup-strainer twin.
Well on this...

Last night
Last night I met a man,
He looked much older than his photos.
He was much fatter too,
Quite possibly obese.
"Why not post recent photos?
And let people meet that you?
You told me you liked walking,
But you could barely keep up with my pace!
Why start something with a lie?
Straight away it was The End for me.
I'm not as insecure as you.
I'm also not a liar.
Let someone choose who you are now.
Have the courage to be real.
Or reap the consequences of your actions,
By being blocked and not wanting...

God Will Never Forsake Us
God is there for us and he'll never forsake us.
He will be there until the days that he takes us.
He'll continue to be there for us when we're in Heaven.
He sent his only begotten son to save men and women.
You may think that God has forsaken you but that's not true.
God will always love all of us and we need to love him too.
God will never forsake us and when things are bad, he will be there.
Through thick and thin, God will be there because he truly does care.
He will be there until the days that he takes us.
He'll continue to be there for us when we're in Heaven.

Rest In Peace, Hazel - Part IV
You died half a year ago tonight and I had to say goodbye.
It was six months ago when I watched you die.
It's never easy when a man loses a dog as special as you.
If somebody says that you were awesome, it will be true.
You were in the living room with me when I watched you take your final breath.
When I had to watch you die, it was extremely painful to have to face your death.
You had chocolate brown fur and you're a dog who I'll never forget.
You died on a Saturday night and when you died, I lost a great pet.

Our Story...Just Begun? (musings on Neanderthals)
" They were huge hulking pale-skinned beasts
thick bow-legs like gnarly tree trunks
not like us... night-black, swift and sleek,
some women, son, thought they were hunks.
Yeah, said to produce fine fit bucks...
but had no savvy, do ye see, son
for bows, boomerangs, arrows and such.
Brains? thick as hide o' rhino's
and slow, slow as an old dodo
they had no go, just couldn't run...
But they drew some fame, great big feasts
with downed mammoths, girt bloody chunks
on fires running with sweet, sweet, grease,
them, stomp,...

Mother's Day 2024
Today is Mother's Day of 2024.
But you died and you can't celebrate Mother's Day anymore.
You were a wonderful mother and I'm your youngest son.
You died eleven years ago in 2013 when I was forty-one.
You were a kind and giving person and that is a fact.
Being generous was a trait that you sure didn't lack.
It broke my heart and it was painful when you passed away.
Even though you're dead, I wish you a happy Mother's Day.
