My Name
Burning dark clouds,
fallen embers burn through night sky,
I am Mastema, the Veiled One,
Concealed out of sight,
Echo's of rebellion prophesied with fate,
A darkened mirror for the proud,
the serpent-tongued lure,
Creeps within our essence,
Heart's ambition lies tangled.
Fire and fallen gods,
Call me Melek Taus,
A feathered figure,
Draped in midnights robes of a starless black sky,
A black hole in a negative space,
Fires of souls burning
flickering in the night,
casting long shadows, ...

In the Shadows of He
In the dim light of ancient halls,
He whispers softly,
We hear his calls,
a friend clothed in shadows,
in smoke and fire they say,
keeping the church alive,
a warm embrace for cold fears,
preaching hellfire and brimstone,
a spire of dread pointing skyward,
where the devil dances,
a charred marionette on strings of sin.
Oh, false doctrines rise like smoke,
a specter, a finger-wagging savior,
teaching dagger and cloak,
“Beware! The adversary lurks,”
they warn with trembling lips,
“He,...

Incomplete Myth of a Goddess that Does Not Exist.
Shapska, a name bruited in the dark corners
of forgotten realms where murk
cotillion with the remnants of lost souls.
In the heart of this desolate place Shapska reigns,
a deity of crooked love and morbid allure.
Her touch, both a blessing and a curse,
weaves through the fabric of actuality,
binding the living and the dead in an eternal grasp.
In the silence of the night,
Shapska's presence is felt,
a cold surge stroke that sends
jitters down the spine.

water
a sweet sister in sin has emerged from the shadows
to tell me some secrets to make me wise
she will not be so careless as to tell me her name
she is here to bring my soul some rest
I've always told the powers that be to masquerade when they come
and veil their minds to protect our thoughts and identity
once I'm sure we have a private wavelength
I tell her to send the information it will go straight to my mind
there are so many levels in the mind
all the knowledge she sent is high-clearance access
she says the word among the powers...

Lost Kings and Skeletal Crowns
In halls where time doth cease to tread
Where stone and silence keep the dead
A throne room sits in shadow’s keep
Where ancient kings eternal sleep
Their crowns of rust, their robes of dust
Long turned to ash, long broke in trust
They sit on thrones of crumbled might
Enshrouded deep in endless night
The air hangs thick with death’s cold breath
A realm untouched by life or death
No whisper stirs, no flicker’s glow
Just dark that swallows all below
The chandeliers,...

A War Of Hearts (Helen Of Troy)
Yes, bring to me this Helen of Troy
She is the woman where her name is written upon ancient strolls, her debauchery to use men as manipulative toys
She claimed my soul in the middle of the night
Her kiss of betrayal lead to the Trojan War in the dawn before early’s light
A femme fatale of beauty, grace, decorum, her temple of shroud holiness, has deceived the masses
Broken alliance among the wealth of many classes
Her alluring soul, entwined unto mine has diluted Kingdoms into bloodshed and sword upon its clashes ...

Aalgott and Athina (2)
(This is a continuation from the previous story where Aalgott meets the praying woman and she asked him for help with her barrenness.)
As Aalgott and the woman approached, his servants stood back and let them pass. As they entered the chambers, the servants approached the woman and asked her name.
“My name is Athina and I am barren though married for five years. I asked Aalgott to grant me access to him in his chambers.”
Aalgott smiled and said, “I will go prepare myself for our time together.”

Tamburbrin's Son, the God-Man (1)
In those bygone eras, serpents were esteemed as the sacred carriers of life's eternal flame, their sinuous shapes representing renewal, creation, and the unfolding enigmas of being. It was amid the consecrated stones of Tamburbrin's sanctum where divine and terrestrial forces coalesced. The woman destined to mother Aalgott was blessed by the shrine's radiance, and soon she cradled a nascent life within her, a boon from the touch of the serpentine deity.
She bestowed upon her son the name Aalgott, a tribute to his eel-god lineage. His imposing form and eyes that reflected the...

Medusa and the Argonaut
Medusa and the Argonaut
Medusa captivates the curious Argonaut with her smoky Greek brogue whose music is like the best song of Calliope wooing her man. “Hi ho, explorer of the far seas of Oceanus. Whither goes thou sailor?”
“The legend of your gaze precedes you. I have heard of your snake tresses and shall not follow the ones who have fallen into your spell only to turn into the marble like a Doric column upon the Acropolis.”
“Oh, prithee I shall not cast such a spell on a brawny man like you who has so much more to offer my female flower than to decorate my...

II. Origin of Friendship (CW: Child abuse)
Liquor in his hand, the drunkard sat
and listened as she told it from the start:
In the final days of that most recent flood
when all of us, displaced, corralled, encamped
felt the force of hunger in our pits,
when also was the White Plague freed from ice,
I first met Hul, the boy who trailed The Man.
Though monstrous was The Man, who cained and beat
as though we poor were mongrels, groveling
at supper-time, embarrassing the master,
young Hul would look upon his master’s works
with pangs of empathy behind big eyes ...

Legend of the Marfa Lights (a narrative) as told by an Apache Elder
In the time of the ancients, when the earth sang with the spirits of the wild and the wisdom of our forebears lingered in every whisper of the wind, there arose a tale born from the heart of the desert, in the realm of the Apaches.
Before the the town of Marfa existed, when the world was untamed and the land stretched out boundless, our people wandered these territories, hunters beneath the expanse of the sky. But the fever of the California Gold Rush ignited a fire in the hearts of travelers, bringing turmoil and sorrow. The allure of gold drew them westward, their wagons carving...
