Death will never tear us apart
They were together a long time
He was retired
She was a homemaker all her life
Most of their family has moved away or died
Two hermits that knew nothing more then each other
They loved tv and game shows
They never left the house
They received their food and clothing through the internet
Occasionally a technician or handyman would come over to fix some household issue
They were happy
They knew no other way
One day the husband fell ill
She knew if she took him to the hospital, he'd die
At one point, he wanted to go, but she...

Introspection and Individuality: Exploring the Landscape of the Self
A Lecture:
(Professor adjusts their glasses, a slight smile playing on their lips)
Alright, class, settle in, settle in! Welcome back to Psychology 301. Or, as I like to call it, "Why We're All a Little Bit Weird (and That's Okay)."
Today, we're diving deep into something very personal, something I've grappled with for years: the fascinating intersection of self-discovery, perception, and the delightful enigma of "weirdness." And we're going to explore it through the lens of poetry – my poetry, actually – and a rather intriguing story...

take this sadness
intro]
Take this sadness
and turn it into silence
[Verse 1]
I bleed with it
a sadness so deep
it could hold the ocean
(Don't silence me
don't silence me
can anybody hear me?)
And you
you give me what I don't need
so tie me down
and throw me into the depths of it
where no one can hear me cry
[Chorus]
Take this sadness
take this sadness
and turn it into silence
(No one is listening anyway)
(Is there anybody left...

Our healing village is down by the levee in New Orleans. I am deep in Psyche hospital funk. I am curled in a ball on the couch in a fetal pose. My mind is afloat in a Sargasso Sea of drugged peace.
The mind doctors take me off all my meds. I am alert and sitting for a change. Sarah and Pamela, who are counselors, walk by me. Sarah looks at me. “Paul did you know Pamela poses nude for artists in the French Quarter? You should come to a showing of her at the gallery after discharge.”
“That sounds like my cup of tea,” I reply, moon-eyed.

Self-deification
And a raven came wrap wrap wrapping on my door,
And I called “who’s there and what for?”,
And the raven called back but as a murder of crows,
It was Raum at my door who beckons and bellows,
A set of odd fellows arranged in rows,
And a melancholic song my quartet did play upon chello’s.
They played a requiem, low and slow,
A tune that whispered secrets only the dead could know.
The air grew heavy with the scent of decay,
As Raum’s hollow laughter led the melody astray.
The crows in their murder, with eyes like coal,
Bore...

The Others
As I previously mentioned she was encountering "Them"
Figures that looked and sounded like children
Lately however, she's been witnessing these "Other" figures
These figures aren't as playful and innocent as the children
"The Others", as she calls them, are harassing and menacing her, usually in the evening
"The Others" are much taller, black shadows, resembling a person
Like the children, she can't make out their faces, but a negative, icy vibe is what she feels
Several times when "The Others" come...

Why do you do that to thyself
I can't really understand why do you do that to thyself, 🤔 for it's not going to change anything that you can't change thyself. FOR sure it's literally just a fix for a moment and then you find thyself, sometimes hurting in pain or be getting thoughts on killing yourself or hurting those who care deeply about you. 🤨 YET you continue to do what you do to thyself, thinking it's gonna help you navigate, through the darkness of the evil forces, that seems to control your thoughts calling you affecting your insight and life. Yet you still believe that it's helping you to cope with...

The board review came to a decision
They found him sane
One doctor felt otherwise
The doctor knew that he fooled the board and staff
The doctor pleaded with the medical board
They saw nothing wrong
The ex girlfriend was always afraid of him
He went psycho on her a few times
For no apparent reason
She would have liked to do normal things couples would do
Instead, she had to worry when something so small and minute would agitate him
He didn't like that she was talking to her brother
He thought her & her brother were secretly in...

My birthday breakdown last year...
My last breakdown....
...was my birthday 2023.
My father would have been 86.
I turned 49. I knew him less
than 6 months of my adult life.
My mother had kept us apart...
told each of us the other was dead...
this was before the Internet boomed.
Before we all had cell phones. All those lost years. Then he died. We shared a birthday.
We never got to share that birthday together. So, every year since '97 that day has haunted me. It was nothing special as a child...no presents...no cake! It COULD HAVE BEEN so special if Dad had...
