I think that the reason you don't know what you are is because you look for yourself in the projection that others have of you. The fact that you want to take this anger out on others who you believe should hold you in higher regards further shows that this is the problem.
Being that every single person has their own unique personal perspective of things, you can only see yourself as something non-consistent and non-definitive by looking through their eyes.
If you want to know who you are you need to look no further than yourself. Only you can decide who you will be and only you can thoroughly judge yourself on correct premises.
