Hood Life

Don’t hate the player, hate the game
Don’t hate the community activist, hate the gangs
They love the hood just as it is, never want to talk about change
People die, more people leave out in chains
Let me refrain
You can’t get through to those who are insane
They want the bad seeds to leave
They have the meaning of snitching wrong and they never give up information to a C.O.P
When violence hit their door and they’ve fallen on bad luck
The same people who don’t want to snitch are the same people hoping someone will speak up
You have to give to receive
You don’t want to make your community safer because you have selfish tendencies
The cycle never ends
You’re passing on the silliness to your kin
The one child who is being taught right is now being poisoned by their friends
I feel like screaming WAKE UP like Vaughn Dunlap
Our teenagers are passing up McDonald’s to sell crack
They think going to jail is a pit stop for real n******
Well keep it real, I see you keeping it thuggish in your prison picture
A prison Pastor trying to get those who are free to read up on scripture
I’m going to get those who are free to read up on how not to make the same mistakes as you dumb n******
We love but we don’t want to see you free
Since you’ve been gone, it’s been a little safer around the community.
