What lies beneath

What lies beneath this broken girl,is a woman screaming for release.
She is clawing at the edge of existence,grasping at thin air,
reaching for something that is no longer there.
 
She misses your hands,that once dried her tears
She misses your arms,that you once held her for so many years
 
Why did you push her away?
Why couldn't you have made her stay?
 
Day by day,the woman is growing stronger,
Soon she will realize she needs him no longer.
 
When he finally wakes up to see she is gone,
He will sit there and ponder on where it went wrong
 
When he is at his all time low,
He will discover that he was a man holding on to a woman letting go.
