The Four Seasons
It’s been too long,
Since I felt the,
Crisp nip,
Of loneliness.
Glass tears fall,
Shattering on the floor.
A red stained floor.
Drawing pictures of memories,
Of what was before.
Babe,I’m something you can never wish away.
Babe,The memory of you ruins my day.
In the season of freedom,
Warmth filled our souls.
The flowers of our hearts,
Budded into a vine,
Promising to never pull apart.
I’d give you sunbeams,
You’d give me a clear blue stream,
Together we’d photosynthesize,
An orchestra of blinding might,
Notes dancing together,
Into energy,
Made only for our ‘Forever’
But together we’d plunge,
Into reds and browns.
Hues of grays dominated the beams,
Dead leaves tainted your stream.
But a certain leaf,
The Leaf of Ash,
Clogged it shut,
And I would no longer feel your cool splash.
The mist hung low,
Letting me feel droplets of dew.
It helped me survive,
But also stopped me from helping you.
Still it was nice when you’d flirt,
But those ice kisses,
Would end in nothing but hurt.
Frost bitten we’d both sink,
Into the never ending crystal shards,
Stained red and gold,
From the blood and beer,
We bled and drank,
After our love slowed.
But the stains,
Of ignorance and regret,
Would fade,
As we both begin to hate…
In hot pursuit,
A new flower sprouts along my side,
Promising nothing but,
Love and care,
No abandoning,
No aching,
And all the water in the world,
Given to me through a simple kiss.
Together we’d huddle,
Through the cold and harsh mist,
Fighting over who would keep the other warm,
While the snow infested wind hissed.
And only with each other,
We will rise up,
Above the Ash Leaves,
Above the broken flower far beneath,
And above all the broken dreams.
Soon mended,
By your gentle and soft leaves.
I Love You
