A Soldiers Mission

Selflessly fighting for our country,
leaving daughters and mothers,
Bestowing honor for sons and fathers,
ensuring freedoms for others,
Missing holidays and birthdays,
far away from home,
Knowing one day to return,
making pride and distinction known,
What gives us this drive and determination,
I know you might be saying,
Nothing less then the oath we took,
and never betraying,
Our goal is to support our nation’s mission,
regardless how far or near,
Sacrificing life and death,
each and every year,
So I say to you today,
this duty will never end,
Because it’s your civil liberties,
soldiers will always defend.
