A Thick Pleached Alley (1980s)
My love spurns a sight which holds me in thrall.
Her vulva's architectural grandeur
Evokes that of a Baroque cathedral.
Columns, curves and recesses allure.
She thinks it's but a thick pleached alley.
With no full view of her prize and mirrors
That give the third dimension little way,
My ardent gaze she scornfully abhors.
That which is not mutual gets the shunt
Into modesty. Then the exordium
Of our life in the big, wide world- the cunt-
Becomes a term of extreme opprobium.
The cunt/vulva is thought (wrongly)to be
The vagina- a channel none can see.
