Sleeping Beauty

Sleeping beauty
So soft
So warm
So pure

I gently kiss your forehead
Run the back of my fingers down your cheeks
Trace the border of your lovely lips
Move the tip of my pointer finger down the slope of your nose and than back up it again

I observe your closed eye lids as they rapidly twitch
I wonder what your dreaming

I listen to you breath
In...and out...little shallow breaths
I smile when you take a big deep breath

Your little face
Careless of expression
For it does not know its being observed

Your unconscious naked body
Lays next to mine
Night after night
Such comfort and trust

It truly is a beautifully odd concept
An unconscious, lying being, in a dark, silent room
For hours, and hours - every night
