Safety of Dreams

Have dreams of good tidings and jovial days,
for life can not match a dream, and it's ways,
Imagine a world where all you wish comes to be,
a world that is not one, but is all you wish to see,
Peel back your eyes to where you're bound,
to a place where you know touch and know sound,
knowing all that you do, with nothing to shock,
tighten your eyes, open your mind, and simply forget,
deceiving ourselves is a rare virtue we get,
for a third of our lives we live it,
it must be more real than we thought,
dwelling in the endless pit,
where fears are rounded to nought,
thirty-odd years spend in this state of mind,
convincing ourselves it's not real,
reminisce of the world that i now can not find,
for my conscious self would not let me feel.
