Once Upon a Moonlit Night…
Amongst a forest of stars,
A symphony shattered
Broken into many shards
And across that darkened sky, scattered.
The moon twisted and spun,
Seeking conformation,
That its fragmented colors were cast
Along waving hesitation.
Its fragmented symphony
Lay jagged over swelling tides,
Trapped on this endless sea
Where they wait where freedom hides.
The surface which they blanket
Pitches, rolls, and sways,
By night visibly broken
But shadowed in the deep by day
And on this night,
Beneath this moonlit sky
These pieces all adrift,
Were watched by a hazel eye
Seeing that they’d fallen
And aching for their death,
She reached out a gentle hand
To instill them with new breath
She collected and gathered
The pieces from the waves,
Compressed them together,
A new symphony engraved;
Then with one hushed whisper
Cast them to the sky,
Launched her remade dreams to the heavens
Where forever they would fly.
A symphony shattered
Broken into many shards
And across that darkened sky, scattered.
The moon twisted and spun,
Seeking conformation,
That its fragmented colors were cast
Along waving hesitation.
Its fragmented symphony
Lay jagged over swelling tides,
Trapped on this endless sea
Where they wait where freedom hides.
The surface which they blanket
Pitches, rolls, and sways,
By night visibly broken
But shadowed in the deep by day
And on this night,
Beneath this moonlit sky
These pieces all adrift,
Were watched by a hazel eye
Seeing that they’d fallen
And aching for their death,
She reached out a gentle hand
To instill them with new breath
She collected and gathered
The pieces from the waves,
Compressed them together,
A new symphony engraved;
Then with one hushed whisper
Cast them to the sky,
Launched her remade dreams to the heavens
Where forever they would fly.
