Should I cry? Or should I weep?
Should I cry? Or should weep?
It was her face, her skin, her body
I hadn't a chance to meet
I didn't cry, I didn't weep
Over a body I'd never known
A pair of eyes I never saw
I just let her walk away
into her valley of femininity
I understood her soul
and I let her go
And this is how I know
That I love her so
I wish her peace in death
and peace between those hills
And peace for the woman who kisses her breasts
And for the first time, the breath of the wind
-
Will sweep through her valleys and lift her hair
And teach her without a word
That a loss is not without meaning.
Goodbye, Silver Moon
