Just Another Sad Story
It takes courage to look in the mirror every day, when you hate everything you see
It takes strength to get out of bed in the morning
And it takes a heart to compose yourself in front of the ones you love
She keeps on breathing but she’s fading to the darkness
She feels as if the world is on her shoulders, yet she keeps herself in check
She wants to break down and cry, all she needs is to die
She tries so hard but nothing ever goes her way
Her parents hate her
Her boyfriend hits her
Her friends don’t believe her
Every morning she puts on her face and gets ready for the day
She covers the bruises and hides the scars
As she paints her face in makeup, in some small attempt to gain confidence she can’t help but feel defeated
She puts on her mascara knowing she’s going to cry it off later
She makes her parents breakfast and kisses them on the cheek
Knowing this will be the last time she ever sees her parents
She leaves for school
