Waiting Today For Tomorrow To Come
This is probably the last poem I'm putting on here for a long time. I've been having the worst case of writer's block; so bad, I've been having headaches and staying up until 4 in the morning, trying to come up with something. I just need a break from writing for a while. So, here's one I pulled out of my ass, just for you guys. You've all been really great, and I thank you for reading my work. So, goodbye for now, DUP. And good luck.
If this is to be the last of it
I’ll make you see right through me
So then I can bury this burden
And wait today for tomorrow to come
Jealousy is a dirty slut that won’t quit
A fool on the edge, forced between two realities
And to lie and say I’ve never felt it
Would be a joke without a punch line
Isolation is paradise and damnation smashed together
Another statistic, encased in stone
The outside doesn’t exist anymore
You just walk out, and fall off the face of the earth
Love is a constant reminder of a hollow feeling
The one that got away was never truly here
And I’ve pleaded to the sky for just one chance
That will never come, not until I’ve drowned in myself
Life is a mistake that has been made far too long
And by now, you see the end behind me
But I’ve taken a thousand steps, and I’ll take a thousand more
Waiting today for tomorrow to come
If this is to be the last of it
I’ll make you see right through me
So then I can bury this burden
