Friend in Need

Phone rings
"Hello?"
"Alex?"
"Yeah?"

person on the other side starts crying

" What's wrong? Are you okay?"
"My friend just committed suicide."

silence

"I'm so sorry."
" we got into a fight and 45 minutes later he committed suicide."

Silence - Alex is in shock and thinks about what he should say next.

"Alex it's all my fault."
"Zoey it's not your fault."

Zoey cries

" look this is reality and it hurts but trust me it's not your fault. He might of had some other stuff going on."
"I don't know"

silence

"Zoey you're going to be okay."
"Thanks. I'm going to go okay?I promised Kayla I'd call her back."
"okay."
" I love you Alex."
"I love you too Zoey."
"Bye."
"Bye."

Hangs up phone. Alex sits and thinks to himself.
He feels horrible.
He feels like he didn't help as much as he knew he could.
