Inconceivable Loss of Amanat

When the throbbing heart ceased to sustain the flow of life,
And the entire nation was thrown in to a moment of strife,
Regressive albeit ‘Incredible India’ embraced another incentive,
To strive and seek flimsy pretexts for its faults to forgive.

The distress, agony, and the plight that Amanat had to endure,
Is ironically inadequate for it still is at a loss to cure,
The malady that besets the inveterately venal statesmen,
While the malefactors savour the shelter of the lion’s den.

An eye for an eye will make the whole world blind,
Thus comes the untenable aphorism; one of its kind,
However since everything looks yellow to a jaundiced eye,
Better pronounce its death lest the threats multiply.

The death of Amanat that was indeed a loss inconceivable,
Was merely a final nail in the coffin connected to a cable,
That severed from her, the heyday of life, hope and aspiration,
While the insouciant requital remains anxious without perspiration.

The dissidence exhibited while confronting the inevitable conclusion,
Precipitated the resentment, acrimony and exasperation of the populace,
While others are busy burying its residue in sheer confusion,
Only to behold its resurgence staring askance at the blind law’s face.
