Industrial Gothic

Industrial Gothic buildings
Jutting forth from beat up
Crumbed pavement

Huge structures shading the light
From vacant fenced in parking lots
Ghostly mechanical hum of machines
Long since dead, yet still screaming;

Invisible sparks shooting in the air
Once filling the sky with thick noxious
Sulfur smelling smoke

Thousands upon thousands of man hours
The hard work of sweating grim labor
Pain and death all in the name of progress
Unsung heroes of wars never fought

Still treading in silence, back and forth
Home and to their ultimate place of worship
The great God of tedium and mindless artier

Our collective struggle against nature
As one by one we make up cogs in the wheel
Life after life we give until whats only left;

The cold monuments given
To the Earth and the Sky
