delusions

am I a philosopher?
just because I say I am?
"I think, therefore I question"
so I must be
in some sense
on some level
to some

perhaps if I had lived in another time
another culture
I might have been hailed as a prophet
as the Ggod I sometimes wonder if I really am

in other times
in other cultures
those we in grand old america call sick
would be encouraged to think and to talk
uplifted
their ideas allowed to flourish
...and they'd be listened to
not ignored
called delusional
drugged
diluted
to dull their senses
called "out their minds"
put away in rubber rooms
for their safety
and for the safety of others

those who are "mentally ill"
are just overly sensitive
to life
to other dimensions perhaps
and if they weren't called sick
they wouldn't feel or act sick
we listen to what we're told
we become what is pushed upon us
