Blinding Yourself With A Pen
You’ll stick your head out
That’s what it’s all about
Showing your face to the blind
Or they’re just that unkind
If you’re scared, that’s too bad
Some gumption you thought you had
Living is a struggle, nothing new
Everything to gain and lose
Your thoughts are the same
You’ve only got you to blame
Not even worth the time
Differentiation’s hard to find
Feeling so deeper than low
Bukowski, Eliot, and Poe
Are rolling in their graves
And you’re ready to cave
Even now, your words distant you
Look what you got yourself into
Forcing your head down again
Blinding yourself with a pen
That’s what it’s all about
Showing your face to the blind
Or they’re just that unkind
If you’re scared, that’s too bad
Some gumption you thought you had
Living is a struggle, nothing new
Everything to gain and lose
Your thoughts are the same
You’ve only got you to blame
Not even worth the time
Differentiation’s hard to find
Feeling so deeper than low
Bukowski, Eliot, and Poe
Are rolling in their graves
And you’re ready to cave
Even now, your words distant you
Look what you got yourself into
Forcing your head down again
Blinding yourself with a pen
