My Heart used Confusion! It's super effective!

I'm at a fork in the road;
One that has me rather confused.
Should I go with one side or the other,
The untraveled or the used?

I admit the journey to this point,
felt mechanical and numb,
As if I wasn't a man;
Only gears and tin.

Now my time grows short,
Will this old ember finally die?
Then there is the new flame,
Will it survive?
